Vatican calls for “Economic Restart” – Sunday is a must

The Vatican’s ambitions are to “restart” the economy, naturally placing the “Christian Sabbath” at the center of this effort. The gradual encroachment of a strict Sunday law and the prohibition, or rather the skillful obstruction, of God’s Fourth Commandment continues unabated.

“Economic Restart”

The Vatican is becoming increasingly specific regarding the introduction, or rather the legal regulation, of a mandatory, or rather enforced, day of rest each week. What has been taken for granted in Germany since August 11, 1919, should also be implemented in all countries of the world: the legally mandated observance of a separate day of rest. Specifically, the Vatican is referring to the first day of the week, namely Sunday. However, even this point has long been a source of confusion, because since January 1976, following a recommendation from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Monday has been considered the first day of the week in Germany, among other countries, and not Sunday as before. Other countries, such as the USA, have adhered to the previous system and continue to begin the new week on Sunday, just as the Hebrews did according to the Old and New Testaments.

Always concerned with maximum confusion

The new definition of Sunday as the 7th day of the week has already created significant potential for confusion regarding the correct Sabbath day. This is clearly being exploited today, as it seems increasingly common to speak of the Sabbath while referring to Sunday.

The Roman Catholic Church also goes all out when it comes to interpreting the term “Sabbath,” and who’s surprised? The Roman Catholic Church means Sunday. The current “Declaration of Intent” by Stefano Rozzoni, entirely in line with the Vatican’s position, dated November 19, 2025, calls for the necessary implementation of a “Sabbath” for, brace yourself, the “restart of the economy.” In light of these ambitions, the global conference “Retarting the Economy” will take place in Castel Gandolfo from November 28 to 30, 2025. This is the logical continuation of the “Economy of Francesco” initiative launched by Pope Francis. (Source).

Babylon, or Babel (Bab-El), means “gate to God,” but is also a synonym for confusion. Similarly, the name “devil” comes from “diabolo,” meaning “one who throws into confusion.”

The usual common good

“Of course,” everything revolves around “social justice, environmental protection, and being debt-free.” While debt relief had certainly been discussed for some time, it hadn’t been the main focus. Similar proposals—relieving poor countries of their burden through debt relief—had already been put forward by Alfred Herrhausen, then a manager and CEO of Deutsche Bank. In 1987, at a conference of the World Bank and the IMF, Herrhausen called for the cancellation of debts for so-called Third World countries.

Herrhausen had strongly advocated for debt relief for Third World countries, for example at a World Bank conference in 1987. One wonders, then, why the RAF would have targeted him specifically. On November 30, 1989, Alfred Herrhausen and his driver were killed in a bomb attack. According to official statements, the terrorist organization RAF (Red Army Faction) was responsible, but neither the exact sequence of events nor the perpetrators have been clarified to this day. It is remarkable that the RAF, an organization that declared itself an “enemy of capitalism,” would blow up someone who championed “social justice” in countries “exploited by capitalism.” In this sense, Herrhausen was ahead of his time, but perhaps still a step too far.

Humanity seems to be ready.

Debt relief is now on the Vatican’s agenda, entirely for the benefit of poor countries, for social justice, and thus for the general well-being of the planet. The capital transfer program from rich to poor countries is already in full swing. According to natural law, every person is entitled to the same, regardless of whether their wealth is of natural or produced origin (Info). People have become “sensitized” (or rather, desensitized) to this, and the new generation (Gen Z) has been calibrated by the World Core Curriculum rolled out by the UN in 1995 (Info). The time now seems ripe for it.

It is hardly surprising, therefore, that Pope Francis addressed his visions of a day of rest for the earth primarily to young people. They should recognize that there is a need today to enter into a “covenant” to change the current economic system. The economy of tomorrow must be given a soul.

Some superficial biblical references

Lovely Pope
The ‘Most Merciful’

In his article for “Vatican News,” the author emphasizes that the “Holy Year 2025” proclaimed by Pope Francis is based on the 50th Jubilee according to the Torah. It represents a period of recovery for the “exploited earth” and a call to free slaves, forgive debts, and return cultivated land. Three symbols of the Jubilee are land, freedom, and forgiveness. While the author correctly notes that the Sabbath commemorates the seventh day of creation (see Info) and celebrates God’s presence, one should not be misled into assuming this is the Roman Catholic Church’s interpretation.

Ultimately, the “first creation” is also the “old creation.” However, the Church of Rome connects its observance of Sunday Mass not only to the resurrection of Jesus but also to a “new creation.” Pope Francis also emphasizes this in his universally binding encyclical on the environment, “Laudato Si'” (2015), position 237.

On Sunday, our participation in the Eucharist has special importance. Sunday, like the Jewish Sabbath, is meant to be a day which heals our relationships with God, with ourselves, with others and with the world. Sunday is the day of the Resurrection, the “first day” of the new creation, whose first fruits are the Lord’s risen humanity, the pledge of the final transfiguration of all created reality. It also proclaims “man’s eternal rest in God”.

“Agony” of choice? Not really.

Since Revelation 13, from verse 11 onwards, speaks of a Beast from the Earth which will convey the will and plans of the first beast from the sea to rich and poor, free and slave, young and old, it is not surprising that such ambitions can already be traced in writing.

The government and restructuring agenda “Project 2025” in the USA addresses precisely this papal theme: the special observance of the “Sabbath,” which, of course, should not be Saturday, but rather Sunday (Info).

Those who stand firmly on the foundation of the Gospel and remain there naturally have no conflict about whom or what they should choose: Sunday or Sabbath? (Info)

God’s commandment at the center

Pope & Sunday
Papal redefinition of the Sabbath

What’s so great about Sunday being observed as a day of rest, not only traditionally in Germany but worldwide, whether as a religious day or as a day of “earthly rest”? If it were simply a matter of observing Sunday as a day of rest, we would already be entering a dark gray area, because the Fourth Commandment (Exodus 20:8-11) describes, among other things:
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Resting on the (true) Sabbath, and necessarily on Sunday, would only amount to five days of “daily work.” Those who learn nothing from history (usually because they aren’t interested) are doomed to repeat it. For it doesn’t stop with the Sunday law alone. A historical example is Emperor Constantine in 321. He introduced Sunday as a “Christian holiday” according to a proclamation by the Bishop of Rome, with the then Pontifex Maximus Constantine clearly referring to Sunday as the “Honorable Day of the Sun.” Later that same century, at the Council of Laodicea (325-382), the Church of Rome decreed that the “Jewish” Sabbath could no longer be observed.

It can also be done through the back door.

It is not even necessary to formulate a specific prohibition of rest for the true Sabbath. Establishing working hours, such as a minimum weekly working time combined with a limit on daily working hours, would suffice. If 40 hours per week are required, but no more than 6 hours per day, then work must be carried out 6 days a week, with Sunday legally defined as a day of rest. The alternative: loss of employment, forfeiture of social benefits due to refusal to comply with the existing law, and thus social and financial ruin.

History shows how it goes

Canon 29:
Christians must not observe the Sabbath as Judeans, but must work on that day and thus honor the Lord’s Day; and, if they are able, they should then rest as Christians. But whoever is found to be a Judean shall be accursed by Christ.

The Catholic community in Elvira, Spain, also had to acknowledge that the Church of Rome, even before the legislation of Emperor Constantine, had claimed the Sun-Day instead of the biblical Sabbath and communicated this to its flock. During the Synod of Elvira (c. 305), they realized they had erred in observing the Sabbath(!) up to that point, as described in Canon 26:
To correct this erroneous practice, it was decided that we must observe strict fasting every Saturday.

Fasting, instead of cultivating communion with God and enjoying His creation, including the food He provided, was the order of the day. The Sabbath was thus to be transformed into a day of deprivation and burden. Furthermore, it is clear that the Bishop of Rome was already proclaiming his supremacy as the undisputed head of the Church. For this was a coercion, not a “recommendation.”

Reapers catch up with sowers

Reapers
The reapers are coming earlier

It not only can, but it will come faster “than expected.” If not tomorrow, then roughly the day after tomorrow. The prophet Amos had foretold it, Amos 9:13:
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.

The reaper, who should actually be the last in the field to gather the harvest, will catch up with the sower. This is a clear indication that events will come to a head with a dramatic climax. Following this, the difference between nominal Christians and true believers who stand firmly in the Word of God will be revealed.

Peter warned and exhorted, 1 Peter 4:17:
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

God’s proven justice heralds the finale.

God Himself knows exactly what truly lies in the hidden heart of every person. But that is the prerogative of the Creator alone, and no one else. It must therefore be made manifest, visible and comprehensible to all, for it concerns nothing less than the ultimate proof of God’s justice when He pronounces His judgment on each person. The world is a witness, 1 Corinthians 4:9:
For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

Obedience to God is simultaneously God’s glorification. It is proof that, thanks to God’s power, humankind is indeed capable of keeping the commandments. Any accusation by the adversary is thus rendered completely unfounded (Info).

Once matters are settled once and for all, and each person and their (voluntarily) chosen decision—whether to acknowledge the authority of God or the authority of the Pontiff—are visible, then the grand finale of the roughly 6,000-year-long drama on this earth will come. The end of the age of grace, and subsequently, and likely without much delay, the seven last plagues described in Revelation 16.

And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
Ezekiel 9:4
