Whether the Sunday law will be legally binding as early as 2026 is still uncertain. However, the steps towards such a mandatory observance of the first day of the week are being taken continuously. Catholic groups have formulated a “very good resolution.”
The focus in 2026 should be on Sunday rest.
The year 2026 is intended to finally realize the desired Sunday rest. Forces are intensifying their influence to reintroduce the legally mandated day of rest, first established by the Roman Catholic Church in 321 AD, into modern times, a practice that is long overdue. On the one hand, these efforts seem like trivialities, such as the US Department of Labor wishing all readers a “Happy Sunday” on its website for the past two Sundays. On the other hand, it is the ever-present power, the Papacy, that wants to establish Sunday as a day of rest for all people.
The not-so-small organizations “Catholic Morns” and “Holy Cross Family Ministries” have issued a New Year’s resolution for 2026. After all, Sunday, the “Sabbath rest,” is holy and a moral obligation to God (Source). They even go so far as to quote Exodus 20:8-11, God’s Sabbath commandment.
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.“
Sabbath misdefined
That the Roman Catholic media mouthpiece not only defines the Sabbath commandment as the 3rd commandment (incorrect – Info), but simply interprets God’s Sabbath as Sunday. That is the 1st day of the week. However, God, in connection with His creation, clearly established the 7th day as the Sabbath, that is, today’s Saturday (Info).
In closing its appeal, the magazine calls on everyone to simply participate. That still sounds like voluntary participation. But history shows that the papacy, with its relaxed approach to freedoms, was anything but strict.
Only a matter of time before Sunday rest begins

If the papacy gains absolute power, then all “piety” will be over. All those who resist the will of the Church, as enforced by state powers, and who would rather adhere to God’s law, have nothing to laugh about. They can be certain that, in the sights of church forces, state authorities, and even the deceived people, they will find no peace whatsoever. The seventh day, the true Sabbath of God, is, after all, a law.
