And it’s the Sabbath again! Whatever has to be done, has to be done. For no other law (commandment) of God is subject to such criticism as the Fourth Commandment. It’s attacked relentlessly, this day is miraculously trampled underfoot, and people rail and rant against THE central commandment of God and – quite in keeping with the saying “in for a penny, in for a pound” – against the bothersome, disgusting, and abominable keepers of the Sabbath commandment. And all this with an ever louder and, above all, more aggressive tone. Therefore: “It’s the Sabbath again!“.

Signs of Prophecy – Frontal Attack on Sabbath Keepers
The language used by opponents of the biblical Sabbath is becoming increasingly crude. Anyone who upholds and exhorts others to observe the seventh day of the week (“Saturday”), the fourth commandment of God, must now expect personal attacks. “Just stop with your damn Sabbath already!” is a common refrain. Highlighting the seventh day, which God established at His creation, is now perceived as a personal attack, as if one were forcing them to listen to it all under threat of legal action.
None of this changes anything. The Sabbath commandment (the fourth commandment of God, Exodus 20:8-11), and especially this commandment, must be illuminated ever more brightly so that everyone is able to grasp the importance of God’s seventh day. The louder and harsher the atmosphere becomes regarding God’s blessed and holy day—which is hardly surprising—the more crucial it is to illuminate the Sabbath. It is anything but merely a “purely Jewish” holiday.
Anyone who understands the word of God as it is written, without human-made ideas and speculation, also knows that such phenomena will occur. This is already the case. For nothing angers the adversary of God more than the observance of God’s commandments, including and especially the fourth commandment, the seventh-day Sabbath. Too much is at stake for the adversary to tolerate even a single person who adheres to all of God’s commandments. Satan’s megalomaniacal claim to be the rightful owner of God’s creation stands or falls upon this.
Instead of the Sabbath, another day

The acceptance of the seventh-day Sabbath fails from the fundamental misunderstanding that it was a purely Jewish law or one exclusively given to Israel. Gentiles didn’t need to observe this day at all, and Christians certainly didn’t, since for them the first day, Sunday, the day of Christ’s resurrection, was paramount. Therefore, the Sabbath could safely be disregarded and left solely to the Jewish faith.
A “nice” attempt to somehow justify what is essentially a blatant disregard for one of God’s commandments. “Besides, (almost) everyone has been doing it this way for centuries, so it must be right.” This argument, however, is seriously flawed, because majority opinion is far from being the truth. History is full of examples that prove the exact opposite. It is enough to condition people’s minds accordingly.
Are only 9 of God’s commandments relevant instead of 10?
It is also somewhat strange to insist on commandments 1 to 3 and 5 to 10 as valid, which is quite correct, but to claim that commandment 4 (the true sequence of the commandments – Info) has somehow been abolished and has no meaning for humanity, with the exception of the Jewish communities.
God is either unreliable or a liar.

Such an attitude leads to serious conflicts, because either God would be unreliable, if not even “capricious,” and/or God would be a blatant liar. The law of God (not the law of Moses! – Info) is holy, unchanging, and valid (not just applicable!) for all eternity. God himself does not change, and therefore, of course, this also applies to Jesus Christ!
“For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” (Malachi 3:6).
“Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.” (Romans 7:12).
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8).
These clear, uncoded statements, easily found in the Gospels, now stand in contrast to the claim of an allegedly abolished Sabbath (4th Commandment!). The Word of God versus the Word of… whose Word, exactly? Who or what actually “sanctified” the first day (Sunday) as the day of Christ’s resurrection and simultaneously declared the Sabbath Jewish?
Sunday – The Law of the Pagans

The first day of the week has always been considered the “holy day” in paganism across various cultures and eras of humankind. Whether one looks to Assyria, Babylon, or Egypt, the first day was, is, and remains the “sacred sun day” (Sunday). Far Eastern religions (Buddhism, Hinduism, etc.) also placed Sunday (the first day) at the center of their worship, always in connection with the sun, a representation of a corresponding “god.”
One such pagan was the Roman emperor Constantine (Mithras Cult). At that time, he was the “Pontifex Maximus” and thus not only the absolute ruler of secular power, but also the high priest (bridge-builder) of the pagan god. In 321, he created legislation in his empire mandating the unconditional observance of Sunday as the “honorable day of the sun” (the unconquered sun – sol invictus).
The Bishop of Rome was very close to the Emperor
The Bishop of Rome (not yet Pope) was in close proximity to the divine emperor, even in close alliance with him. This is one reason why the Bishop of Rome claimed supreme authority over the “holy, apostolic, Catholic Church.” This was something the bishops in the East (Constantinople) strongly opposed. The Gospel also clearly speaks against such a hierarchy.
Nothing changed when Constantine moved his seat of government to Constantinople. Already consumed by a lust for power, the Bishop of Rome clung to his goals: supremacy over the Roman Catholic Church. This didn’t happen overnight, but the obsessive motivation pursued a clear agenda, even in the long term, right up to the present day. The abolition of the Sabbath (the seventh day) and the legally enforced observance of the first day are among the top priorities of the Church of Rome. This is clearly evident in the historically verifiable development (see Info).
The Church of Rome imposed the pagan Sunday

Rome successively disseminated and enforced the corresponding narratives about Sunday, even under threat of the death penalty. The Sabbath was Jewish, Christians were not allowed to “Judaize,” fasting was mandatory on the seventh day, the “Christian Sabbath” (meaning Sunday, from the time of the Reformation onward), anyone who fasted on Sunday was a “murderer of Christ,” and so on. Nothing was “sacred” to the Church of Rome than the establishment of Sunday (in connection with the Eucharist) and the eradication of the seventh day (“Saturday”).
An icon of a deeply natural, nature-included divinity was the monk Francis of Assisi, the Roman Catholic “songwriter” of the Middle Ages. With his hymn of praise to nature, “Laudato Si’,” he served as a shining example for the former Pope Francis, author of the encyclical of the same name (2015), which is still highly regarded today and is also used by the current Pope Leo XIV as a guiding principle of his pontificate.
Not much better: The Reformers
Unfortunately, the Reformers adhered to the Roman Catholic (pure) tradition and, in the Augsburg Confession of 1530, declared the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11) to be a “ceremonial law, that is, a law of Moses.” Other Roman Catholic traditions, such as Christmas and Easter, also became part of the Reformation’s repertoire.

It is also the Church of Rome that brazenly defines its own traditions as being at least equal to the Word of God, and in cases of doubt (in contradictions) even superior to the Word of God. This is linked to the peculiar notion of holding the representation of Christ on earth, being exalted above everything and everyone, not subject to justiciation, inviolable, infallible, divine, and endowed with the right to change or abolish God’s laws at any time.
The Franciscan canonist Lucius Ferrari (1687-1763) gave such a powerful testimony against the papacy (Info). In fact, no further questions should remain about the spiritual state of the “highest clergy” of the Church of Rome. Anyone wishing to delve deeper would immediately, without any intermediate step, encounter the great adversary of God, the screenwriter, director, and prompter of the papacy (Revelation 13:2-4).
Church of Rome – henchman of the adversary
The idea of declaring Sunday “holy” and enshrining it in law was therefore not new. But the adversary of God (Satan, the ancient serpent, the devil – Revelation 12:9) found in the Roman Catholic Church his medium for implementing his claim to dominion over humanity and thus over the entire earth. Wealth and power, packaged in a framework of lies, were the seductive means used to even enthusiastically motivate fallen humanity to carry out Satan’s will (e.g., Daniel 11:36-39).
And the adversary will almost achieve his goal, but only almost. For the declaration that he “legitimately” possesses unlimited power on earth would leave not a single person who unwaveringly adheres to God’s law and will. Accordingly, Satan, with the unbridled fury of a roaring lion, will relentlessly carry out his actions through the Church of Rome, via the executive branch of the world’s superpower (USA, Info), carrying out the persecution of these “rebels” in cruel deeds (Revelation 12:17).
In the end, however, the adversary cannot claim that there are only people left who recognize him as the sole authority, but God points to “144,000” remnants (Revelation 14:1-5) and will swiftly bring this unspeakable activity to an eternal end (Revelation 18). This would provide the final proof of God’s justice. Those who remain faithful have thus proven that God’s law can indeed be kept (and must be). Through their lives (faith and conduct), they primarily glorified God and thereby received their saving redemption! (Info)
Paul said…!

The favorite passage of Sabbath opponents is found in the letter to the Colossians. It is supposedly proof that Paul, not the Lord(!), declared the Sabbath obsolete.
“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.” (Colossians 2:16-17).
If this abolition of the seventh-day Sabbath were indeed true, it would have had to occur exclusively at this point. Paul makes no repetition or reference to any other passage, nor does he issue a clear pronouncement from Jesus Christ. Which is understandable, because no such pronouncement exists. In that case, however, this statement would be an abolition of the Sabbath by Paul himself, and not by the Lord!
Paul, however, was not the papacy!
Paul, however, did not presume to change the law (in stark contrast to the papacy). True to the style of those who “cut and paste” the Gospel, a blinkered approach (or tunnel vision) is evident here. Only this small excerpt where Paul made certain statements is considered, but not the context, which would allow the reader or listener to understand what is truly at stake. This is not about God’s law at all, but about the performance of ceremonies by the church members and also the preservation of ceremonies and customs of the formerly pagan newcomers.
As long as the practice of ceremonies is neither contrary to God’s commandment nor to the completed redemptive work of Jesus Christ, these traditions pose no problem whatsoever. Paul admonishes the church leaders not to command or condemn existing and new members of the congregation for adhering to these traditions. However, this connection only becomes clear when one reads and examines the passage beyond the favorite passage, using one’s own critical thinking. At a minimum, always read the entire chapter. If necessary, also read the preceding chapter, especially if a new chapter begins with transitional words such as “therefore,” “for this reason,” “why,” or similar.
“Jesus Christ never taught Sabbath observance”

Another thing. God’s commandment is being questioned because Jesus Christ never explicitly declared the Sabbath binding. And indeed, He didn’t, and why would Jesus Christ have done that? He never explicitly said, “Keep the Sabbath, follow this commandment, etc.” but He went to the synagogue on the Sabbath “as usual” to read from Scripture and teach.
Counter-question: How often is it necessary to regularly re-present a government law to the public for its continued validity? How often and where does this actually occur? This idea is quite absurd, isn’t it? When a law is repealed or amended, a repeal or amendment law is required (in democratic/parliamentary structures). If the original wording doesn’t specify an expiration date, the law remains in effect indefinitely (exceptions being government ouster, rebellions, complete upheavals, and so-called “force majeure”).
If a father clearly instructs his son never to play tennis on the motorway, using the guardrail as a net, then that rule applies tomorrow, next week, in a month, and for years to come. If it isn’t repealed, then it applies indefinitely.
Where is the abolition of the Sabbath clearly stated?
Second counter-question: Where is it written, as clearly as the establishment of the Fourth Commandment, that the Sabbath commandment is abolished? Nowhere, exactly! This leaves only wishful thinking and personal interpretation. Back then, even during the time of Jesus Christ’s ministry on earth, it was primarily the Pharisees, elders, and scribes who, with (completely excessive) pedantry, ensured that the Sabbath was observed. There are several examples of this in Scripture, for instance:
“The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.” (John 5:10).
“And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day” (Luke 13:14).
This went so far that the “scholars” accused Jesus Christ and His disciples of breaking the Sabbath because they picked and ate ears of grain on a Sabbath. However, they were not breaking God’s law, but only the “law” of the Pharisees (Info).
Bible readers, listen up!!!

Unfortunately, many modern German Bibles contain appalling distortions of the relevant passage. As brazen as the henchmen of the adversary are, they simply added the phrase, “with this, Jesus abolished the Sabbath” to the corresponding verse! Not as a commentary, not as a footnote, but inserted directly into the text as an official statement! This is unscrupulous, brazen, and a real scourge within the German Bible Society. Its downfall is already complete!
Which Bibles (excerpts, German versions) this affects, as well as countless other verses, and which Bibles are still clean, is shown here.
Sabbath – From the beginning until today and forever!
God instituted the Sabbath on the 7th day after 6 days of creation (Info). Since then, the Sabbath has been valid without restriction, unmodified, and unabolished! No repetition of this one commandment out of a total of ten is necessary for it to retain its validity! Valid since the first 7th day, valid for the past approximately 6000 years, also valid during the 1000-year rest period (Millennium), and explicitly valid on the new earth after God’s new creation.
“For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 66:22-23).
None of the arguments against the Sabbath remain

If one’s focus remains (stubbornly) on the Word of God and one rejects all human, baseless, and unsubstantiated interpretations, then absolutely nothing remains of the supposed thesis about an abolished or relocated Sabbath. It turns out to be a mirage in the bone-dry, dusty environment of those who are (spiritually) almost dying of thirst. It’s self-affirmation through clinging to a cherished illusion, supported by the confirmation-seeking gaze of those who are (remaining) spiritually like-minded.
It remains as it has been for approximately 6,000 years. The Sabbath is valid (not merely enforced/applied!), unrestricted, unchanged, and will continue for all time in the future of the redeemed! Neither traditions nor coercion, threats, duress, nor persecution can alter this. Whoever follows in the footsteps of those who persecute Sabbath keepers, that is, those who are faithful to God’s law, condemns themselves and bears witness to the ever-diligent observers!
A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.
Titus 3:10-11
