Rumor mill: Sunday law & May 15, 2026 – Jesus’ return

A video clip that presents the Bible with complete sincerity and, at least in part, accurately speaks of May 1, 2026, as the starting date for the Sunday law and even the arrival of Jesus Christ on May 15, 2026. This isn’t so difficult to refute. What’s more important is what motivates this kind of apologetics?

Lots of good things around

A lot of truth, some of which is certainly open to interpretation, but also something very questionable. A YouTube channel operator whose previous posts certainly give the impression of being a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. His posts focus on the papacy as the anti-Christian system easily identified in the Bible (Info), the USA as the henchmen of the papacy, and the associated Sunday law.

The Sunday law that is sure to come will primarily include the legally mandated Sunday rest and, subsequently, the prohibition of observing a period of rest on any other day. Historical precedents are the Sunday law of Constantine in 321 AD, in “cooperation” with the Bishop of Rome, and the Council of Laodicea in 365 AD, at which the observance of the biblical Sabbath was forbidden to all Christians.

Question of authority

Ultimately, it’s about recognizing an authority. The authority of the papacy, which will establish the Sunday law, or the authority of God, who designated the 7th day of the week (“Saturday”) as the Sabbath to be observed. In short: The mark of the beast is imminent (Info).

Developments in the United States already confirm the prophecies found in Revelation 13. The “Beast from the Sea”, the Papacy, as well as the “Beast from the Earth”, the USA (Info).

Exact date of Jesus’ return (?)

Sunday law
Sunday law in sight

However, with another post, the channel operator seems to have gone a bit too far out of the window (Quelle). The video title alone promises something interesting: “The Sunday Law May 1, 2026.” A date on which the Sunday Law is apparently supposed to come into force.

Well, who knows if he might have special information, something brand-new? Especially where it came from and from whom. After all, the caddy has certainly gotten wind of one thing or another during Trump’s gold excursions, if people talk openly in the sunshine and good spirits.

Again, many things are reproduced correctly

No sooner said than done, and seen. It’s true that the Pope must motivate people to ultimately accept the mark of the beast more willingly than under duress. This is already indicated by the actions of his henchman, the United States, as well as the descriptions in the Bible. Revelation 13:16:
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

It is written that the beast (from the earth) will “work” and not “force.” In addition, there are numerous “wonders and signs” that the beast is given to perform (Revelation 13:14), under the supervision of the beast from the sea (the papacy). This alone will “convince” people.

If context is taken into account, it becomes tight

Other details of his statements also agree with biblical descriptions, but only when viewed in isolation or in the correct context. This applies to the characteristics and actions of individual actors, as well as the fact that the Sunday law also involves worship. He’s right about that.

The channel operator, however, is making his own case. We’re at least waiting for the eagerly awaited statement about where he got the date of May 1, 2026, from. No such thing. At no point in his video does the speaker reveal where this information came from or how he arrived at this date.

Jesus’ return on “May 15, 2026”

May 15, 2026
Date of Jesus’ return (?)

He even goes one step further. Since, according to his undisclosed source, the Sunday law is supposed to come into effect on May 1, 2026 (from minute 8:30), it follows that Jesus Christ will return on May 15, 2026! (from minute 8:45) Bang! Now, May 1 is already hanging in the air as the date for the Sunday law, unsubstantiated, and now the “certain date” for Jesus’ return has been established.

How does he justify the coming of Jesus 15 days after the beginning of the Sunday law? He draws on the statement in Revelation 17:12:
And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

It is true that a prophetic hour (specifically) means 15 days (Info). And as it is written, the 10 (pseudo-)kings will reign together with the beast for 1 hour, i.e., 15 days. But that is certainly not the time span between the activated Sunday law and the return of Jesus Christ. Firstly, this statement is not contained in this verse at all, nor in the “surroundings” within this chapter, and secondly, it contradicts statements in other Bible passages.

Revelation 18 tells us something different

The video sorely misses an excerpt from Revelation 18 (judgment on Babylon), as well as the entire sequence in Revelation 16 (seven plagues). According to this, the entire program would have to take place within 15 days. However, Revelation 18 provides further information on this, e.g.,
in Verse 10: “for in one hour is thy judgment come.
in Verse 17: “For in one hour so great riches is come to nought
in Verse 19: “for in one hour is she made desolate.

If one interprets “generously,” each “one hour” runs simultaneously, because it is a “major event” in which riches and Babylon are destroyed. That would be 15 days alone. Chronologically, it would even amount to 45 days.

1 year of suffering compressed into 15 days?

Calender-Mark
at least 375 days pressed in 15 days

However, the “breaking statement” against the claim in the video is in Revelation 18:8:
Therefore shall her plagues come in one day

This is the statement that all seven plagues (Revelation 16), including the gathering of all the armies of the kings for the “great battle” (spiritual), will occur within one year.
In sum, that’s 360 days (Hebrew year) plus 15 days, or 375 days. This would have to be compressed into the 15 days, which is what the video attempts to describe.

Daniel 12 was also forgotten

The statements in Daniel 12 are also “completely forgotten.” This concerns the final “abomination of desolation,” which will be set up at the end of time. Daniel 12:11-12 states:
“And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.“

These numbers, which are especially relevant to the time following the statement during the 6th trumpet, namely, “that there should be time no longer:” (Revelation 10:6), as well as “And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings” (Revelation 10:11), indicate a period of at least 3.5 years.

The actual expected sequence

– Proclamation of the Sunday Law – Effective after 30 days
– 1260 days of persecution of those who avoid the Law and obey God
– 15 days before the end of the 1260 days, kings and beasts will unite
– During these 15 days (last 15 days of the 1260 days*), the death sentence will be pronounced
– Expiration of the grace period after 15 days (or 1260 days in total)
– The first plague begins quickly
– Expiration of the subsequent plagues
– The death decree takes effect
– Jesus Christ returns and takes his people
– The remaining people will be destroyed by the 7th plague
* Another variation is also possible, involving the difference of 1290 to 1335 days, i.e., 45 days. However, this does not change the fact that only 15 days can pass between the Sunday law and Jesus’ return.

Many great unknowns

Holmes & Watson
Großes Rätselraten

When does the Sunday law come into effect? That’s still unknown!

Accordingly, it’s also unknown when the time of grace will end. Here, people should look to themselves rather than to God. The time of grace doesn’t end all at once, but applies to each person individually. God is guided by people, because He recognizes who wants to choose Him at the last minute. Once everyone has made their decision, the door closes.

When the first plague strikes, one is “wiser” in hindsight and looking back. “Aha, the plague is over, the time of grace is over.” Even if all these dates were known, one still wouldn’t know when Jesus Christ would return, on what day and at what hour.

Why this gross blunder?

One consideration, if one were to hypothesize that this video story was deliberately misleading, would be the possible compatibility of this video story with futurism, which is particularly prevalent in evangelical circles (Info). The video also doesn’t explain what will happen at Jesus’s return. Futurism assumes an “earthly kingdom of peace” on Earth (Info).

“Caution is the mother of a china chest,” and Babylon is also synonymous with confusion. Anyone who isn’t firmly grounded in the foundation of the gospel here can completely stray from the path even in the last quarter of the journey.

The video with puzzle information

And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
