Everyone gets a turn. This includes Pope Leo XIV, who promised his flock a plenary indulgence if they visited a pilgrimage site and followed a whole 9-point checklist.
All Souls’ Day and Anniversary
A plenary indulgence from the penalties of sins already forgiven by the priests. Not from Jesus Christ through His grace for penance and conversion based on true faith, but from the Pontifex Maximus. Pope Leo XIV is currently offering his flock another way to receive the “mercy and grace” of the head of the Roman Catholic Church by visiting the Schoenstatt Shrine. Fittingly, on All Souls’ Day, celebrated yesterday according to the liturgical calendar—the day of special prayers for the dead—devout Catholics can now be freed from their burden of guilt. The community of the Secular Institute of the “Sisters of Mary” is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and Leo is generously dipping into the treasure trove of good works exclusively available to the Pope, granting all pilgrims a plenary indulgence.
The Pope invokes the “grace of God,” which will strengthen our family and purify our hearts. (Source). Indulgences can also be obtained in the name of a dead person, but certain conditions must be met:
- Sacramental Confession
- Communion (Eucharist)
- Praying for the Pope’s decrees
- The Lord’s Prayer according to the decree
- The Creed
- Invocation of Mary
- Recognizing Mary as Mother of God, Queen of Peace, Mother of Mercy
- Performing an act of penance
- Performing an act of charity
Just Catholicism
The list of conditions reads like a checklist. In principle, there’s nothing particularly noteworthy about this Catholic path of faith. As always, the Roman Catholic Church teaches:
– the immortal soul
– the constant re-sacrifice of Jesus Christ
– the near-deification of Mary
– righteousness by works instead of righteousness (exclusively) by the grace of Jesus Christ through faith

The simple realization and its acceptance that there is no immortal soul, but rather that the living human being is the soul, would dispel a whole range of Catholic superstitions in one fell swoop (Info). This includes the idea of a “living Mary” and the “saints” still interceding somewhere in heaven. These are even the three lies of the serpent in the Garden of Eden, which the Church of Rome has included in its catechism as official doctrine (immortal soul, being like God/“divine spark” and the inherent morality of the human heart – Info).
Catholicism has been like this since its first drift away from the early local community, is like this, and will always remain like this until the stone not cut out by human hands puts an end to this activity of the last power structure of the great adversary (Daniel 2:45).
Protest? Silence in the forest.

What’s also not really surprising is the lack of protest from the former Protestant churches. After all, it was precisely this sale of indulgences that motivated Martin Luther to correct this misconduct through an (initially) internal reform. At first, it was primarily about the money, but then it became a matter of principle, and through continued study of the Gospel, a whole avalanche of revelations emerged, exposing the Church of Rome as being diametrically opposed to the Word of God. Today, Protestantism is dead and buried, and by relativizing the Bible as the sole Word of God, it has even deprived itself of its right to exist. But they simply carry on undeterred. Today, no longer to spread the Good News, but as obedient daughters of Rome, to disseminate the messages of the Papacy.
And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
