In addition to fundamentalists, the Gospel is now also “dangerous”

The enemy image of fundamentalism is being expanded. Opponents of the gospel, and thus also opponents of Jesus Christ, are taking it a step further within the framework of ecumenism. The emanating “danger” is no longer limited to the proponents of sola scriptura, but also, suggestively, to the gospel. Just one further step and Jesus Christ himself is being portrayed as a danger.

Wedge between Gospel and Fundamentalism

A “semi-new” narrative is gaining ground against those Christian communities that adhere to the insight and formulated motto “sola scriptura.” Sola scriptura is Latin for “Scripture only,” which recognizes the Bible, the Word of God, as the sole binding authority. Outside writings on the Bible, considerations from various perspectives, and even approaches to interpreting the still-unresolved prophecies are permissible, as long as they do not contradict any statement of the Bible. If something in an external source conflicts with the Gospel, the Gospel is to be given priority, or the external Scripture is to be rejected altogether.

In addition, further Sola theses were formulated during the Reformation (Info)

Traditions, new ideas, additions, or the creation of entirely new, unusual contexts that do not correspond to the Gospel are therefore to be rejected entirely. People are, of course, free to believe in these human ideas, but then they should also be aware that they have strayed from the path of the Gospel and thus also from the footsteps of Jesus Christ. “Tolerance” is completely out of place here, especially if one calls oneself a follower of Jesus Christ.

Merely a post-modern variation of the usual

Around 68 AD, the faithful Judas—not Judas Iscariot, the traitor, but a (half-)brother of Jesus (Mark 6:3)—warned in a letter about the dangers of the active heresies. This shows that deviations from the gospel were not introduced much later, but were constantly being persecuted by persecutors of the truth from the very beginning. After all, the truth had already been fought with every possible means for many centuries prior. Even the Word and the truth in person, Jesus Christ (John 14:6), were always at the center of the attacks of the majority, angry crowd.

So before the end of the 1st century, the Gospel, as we find it today, was the Masoretic text for the Old Testament and the textus receptus for the New Testament (Info), has long since concluded. Jude 1:3:
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Has been handed down once and for all, ergo, conclusion, closed, sealed and “laminated.” At the time of Judah, the New Testament did not yet exist in its current form. It consisted of individual writings, which were ultimately compiled with the writings of the Old Testament to form what is now the Bible. The “Church Fathers” of Rome undertook this task. This can be readily attributed to the Roman Catholic Church. If only they had at least adhered to the Majority Text (textus receptus). Instead, Jerome preferred the Gnostic-tainted Septuagint from the Alexandrian region of Egypt. This gave rise to the Latin Vulgate.

Strong reactions against sola scriptura

Angry Harlot
The ‘woman’ reacts angrily

For this reason, the term “sola scriptura” is a particularly effective trigger for a violent allergic reaction in the Roman Catholic Church. Over the following centuries, the Church not only created entirely new fables and narratives, but even elevated them above the written Word of God. Tradition stands above the Bible, according to the motto of this Roman institution, and the Bible itself must be interpreted in light of tradition. The result is easily seen in the teachings it calls Christianity. (Info).

The logical consequence is that the written Word of God, and thus automatically Jesus Christ himself, are incompatible with the goal of ongoing ecumenism. Anyone who truly reads the Gospel for themselves would find it quite strange that, in an ecumenical perspective, Jesus Christ could have nothing to do with himself. For Jesus Christ himself is the Word made flesh (John 14:6; John 1:1-3; 14; Philippians 2:5-8).

Cain, Balaam, Korah

Judas knew how to correctly classify these deceitful false teachers:
Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.” (Jude 1:11).

Murderer

Cain is a murderer, even the murderer of his own brother Abel. After the deed, he confronted God and asked where Abel was. “I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?” was the sly reply (Genesis 4:9).

Corruption

corruption
Betrayal for money

Balaam was a false, greedy, and therefore corrupt prophet. He was hired by the Moabite king Balak to curse the invading people of Israel. This failed. Then Balaam had the idea of bringing the people down through sin, because if sin persists, God will turn away and withdraw His protective hand. No sooner said than done. Pretty Moabite women entered the people with seemingly friendly intentions, holding feasts and dances in the style of the pagan Moabites. This worked. They began, among other things, to engage in (spiritual) fornication and to eat meat sacrificed to idols. These were precisely the traditions that the Moabite women brought with them with delightful conviction (Numbers 22-24).

Rebellion

Korah was the ringleader of a rebellion against Moses and Aaron while they were still wandering in the desert. He led a rebellion to take over leadership of the people himself. Nevertheless, Moses remained humble and asked God to settle the matter in His way and according to His justice. God did so. Around the tent of Korah and his family and followers, the earth opened up and swallowed them all, never to be seen again (Numbers 16).

In short: murderers, corruption, and rebellion (against God). These things have existed for many centuries in an institutional form with headquarters in Rome. (Info).

Spiritual War Since the Fall

Adam & Eve
That’s how it all started

Therefore, the attacks on Jesus Christ, the Word of God, and His written legacy of the Word, the Gospel, are of a latent nature. It is a spiritual war in this world, as it was declared immediately after the Fall, by Jesus Christ Himself, against the adversary Satan:
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:15)

The Hebrew word “ebah” stands for enmity and means, quite simply, hostility, enmity, hatred. Jesus Christ even took on this war against Satan in our place. He has already won this war, namely with His death and subsequent resurrection. Since then, it has “only” been about proving God’s righteousness, saving as many people as possible, and ultimately, about judging each individual. The main event is currently taking place in the Heavenly Sanctuary, and for a good 180 years, even in the Holy of Holies. (Info)

Jesus must have nothing to do with himself

Gospel in bin
In principle disposed of

You can twist and turn it however you like. If the incompatibility of Jesus Christ with ecumenism is to be eliminated, it must be reduced. Therefore, a separation of Jesus from the gospel is inevitable. There is no other way. For many decades, the version of Jesus Christ has been circulating that he possesses only love and, through this love, saves every person with exclusively sweet tones, who is also ecstatic in an emotionally overwhelmed state of love. Law, sin, justice, judgment? Oh, what!

In short: The Word of God can no longer be His own Word.

Now, people are putting the cart before the horse. They label those religious groups that take the Word of God literally and consider it the sole authoritative source as “sola scripura churches.” Standing alone, this isn’t a problem, but it doesn’t stop there. They resort to the familiar, common method of accusing them of being shameful for what they themselves routinely practice. These churches are separating Jesus from the Bible, so the thesis goes, and elevating the gospel above Jesus Christ. To immediately establish the desired connection, they appropriately refer to them as “fundamentalists.” They are therefore “dangerous” because of this.

This is a distortion par excellence, and simultaneously positions oneself as a warning authority committed to morality. A hidden message within it is that the Bible must be understood as it is represented by the “new, ecumenical Jesus.”

Continuation of the ecumenical path

Ökumene
United in Ecumenism

One can safely call all this “the next step,” as it were, because the preconditioning of ecumenical supporters and participants has long since been completed (Info). As early as 2009, the then ACK chairman and regional bishop, Prof. Weber, made a clear statement:
Fundamentalism is an ignorant countermovement against modernism. Its positions are non-negotiable, its answers simple, and its worldview often black and white. Fundamentalists, regardless of their religious persuasion, are dangerous because they are unwilling and unable to respect the answers of others.” (Lecture on Interdenominational Currents, March 7, 2009, Magdeburg)

You can also see it as it really is. The Bible is no longer relevant, no longer reflects our values. After all, peace on earth must be secured, according to the idiot with his nose held high.

Confusion between law and statute

One must never forget that not all “laws” are created equal. Unlike the laws of states, the law of God is truly a law. For it is “established,” meaning immutable, unchangeable, forever and ever. A state law can be changed in various ways, depending on the form of government. Therefore, in this sense, while binding in its current form, it is not a law, but a statute. The gospel is eternal, unchanging, and therefore established.

Gospel rumor
Things are coming to a head

Therefore, Jesus Christ is also unchanging, and thus His (own) Word is unchanging, and thus also His law. This is what the “dangerous” fundamentalists have understood and stand for. It’s that simple!

What has been shaped so far in the minds of superficial and undifferentiated Christians describes a correlation between “fundamentalism and danger.” Now they go a step further and link this with “gospel and danger.”

The eternity clause of the Gospel is also attested in the so-called first angel’s message (1 of 3 – Info):

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Offenbarung 14,6-7
