New light is being shed on Charlie Kirk’s qualitative statements about the Sabbath. The first readers of his newly published book can summarize their findings. And the Bible-believing among these critical readers have indeed discovered some striking features that, on the one hand, answer questions, but on the other hand, cause deep consternation. The already lingering suspicion of a virtually large-scale, comprehensive “super-deception” is moving within reach of irrefutable confirmation.
Romans 14:5: Charlie Kirk’s striking reasoning
Things can move quickly. Released to the public just four days ago, the first readers are already commenting on Charlie Kirk’s legacy, the book “Stop, in the Name of God” (87 pages). The publisher is Winner Team Publishing, and its co-founder in 2021 is Donald Trump Jr. The initial rumors that Charlie Kirk’s upholding of the Sabbath came with a significant drawback seem to be proving true. For a key statement in the book, which is intended to offer some justification for observing the Sabbath, is the “well-known and frequently cited” verse Romans 14:5:
“One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.“
This verse is most often cited by those who use it to justify not observing the Sabbath on God’s holy day (the 7th day), but rather on a different one. Specifically, the 1st day, Sunday. Because “it says so right there, explained by Paul.” It doesn’t matter which day, as long as it’s one day out of seven. It’s entirely a matter of personal discretion and life plan, so the narrative goes.
The magic word is context!
However, it is “accidentally” overlooked that this verse has absolutely nothing to do with the Fourth Commandment in its context. The seventh-day Sabbath is not affected by it at all. This verse, in its context, represents the “opinion” of the Christian. God’s Fourth Commandment, however, is not an option, but a law! Paul is referring to the customs brought by “new Christians,” which, if they do not violate God’s law, should not even be up for discussion.
Another key message concerns the Judeans, who for centuries had been persecuted, controlled, and conditioned by the “Pharisee caste” and their self-invented traditions. They placed their own traditions above God’s law, something Jesus Christ openly stated and denounced. Jesus’ condemnation of the Pharisees was accordingly harsh, as can be seen in Matthew 23:
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.” (Matthew 23:27-28).
Such a spirit has no place in the emerging church of Jesus. The (new) members should be taught not human tradition, but the Word of God.
The reason obviously lies elsewhere.
So, how did Charlie Kirk come up with the idea of justifying his “Sabbath” with this verse? Unless, of course, the other lingering rumors, or even the still-open passages in his book, are also confirmed. These relate to the statement that Charlie Kirk, when “there was no other way,” simply moved the Sabbath to Sunday as a substitute this weekend. This, he argues, is perfectly justified based on Romans 14:5.
Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, studied at Regis University, which is run by the Roman Catholic Church. This would be, well, if one takes the faith seriously, a clear contradiction to the efforts to exclusively observe the actual seventh-day Sabbath. For if there is an earthly arch-enemy of the Sabbath, it is the Church of Rome (Info).
The mourning and memorial ceremony organized by the US administration on the occasion of Charlie Kirk’s murder also speaks volumes (Info).
Sophisticated, “brilliant super-deception”?
Should further evidence emerge to show that Charlie Kirk didn’t take God’s “monopoly day” so literally, but instead relied on Romans 14:5, as ultimately described in his book, then this reeks of a large-scale, gigantic deception. For the agenda of the papacy, and also of the US government, in light of “Project 2025,” unequivocally defines the term “Sabbath” as Sunday. And that is utterly wrong!
It remains unclear whether Charlie Kirk was aware of this, or whether he too was mistaken on this point. He himself can no longer comment on it, nor can he recall how his death is being so thoroughly portrayed as a martyrdom and shining example of faith. The overwhelming public support, as well as the fact that his book was nearly sold out just four days after its release, further attests to this. Everyone is strongly inclined to take their “hero” as a role model of faith, and in his last writings, everyone reads Romans 14:5.
Who wants to be a “heretic”?
Woe betide anyone who comes along and claims that Sunday is the wrong Sabbath, that Saturday is the true Sabbath, and that Charlie Kirk was wrong. Can we then expect all the euphoric, enlightened, millions of evangelicals to put the book down, purified and with tears in their eyes, gratefully embracing the reader for the truth they’ve discovered? Hmm.
It is far more likely that such spiritual figures as a Roman Catholic inquisitor, who points the accusing finger at the accused to convince the masses that they should follow and defend the faith of the Church of Rome, if only for the sake of the mandated unity, are not even necessary in this case.
This should not discourage the Bible-believing and God-fearing believer, but rather strengthen their resolve. For the resistance of the masses will increase even further (Revelation 12:17; 14:12). Ultimately, it is primarily God who permits this deception, motivated by Satan, so that the false Christians, hypocrites, and wavering ones may be exposed. The world is a witness and watches (1 Corinthians 4:9). See especially 2 Thassalonians 2:5-13.
Jesus Christ repeatedly warned against deception.
Such a deception, on such a massive scale and scope—a deception within a deception—would correspond almost exactly to what Jesus Christ warned against four times in Matthew 24 alone: ”Do not be deceived” (Info). Added to this is the repeated warning in the prophecy of Revelation given by Jesus Christ to “his servants” (Revelation 1:1).
This was complemented by the almost perfectly fitting insertion, which, alongside the classical interpretation, primarily included the “antitypical interpretation” of the 6th trumpet in Revelation 9 (Info). An excerpt describes:
“UAnd thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.” (Revelation 9:17-19)
Spiritual aspect of prophecy
As interpreted, the prophetic statements of Revelation must be understood primarily on a spiritual, not a literal, “tangible” level. Horses always point to the military aspects of a battle. “Fiery, violet, and sulfur-yellow” are the colors of the dragon (Satan), the beast (the papacy), and the false prophet. Sulfur, from the Old Testament onward, has always been associated with “destruction, annihilation,” just as the attribute of dragon for the adversary also signifies destruction.
Their mouths (the spoken word, teachings) are the source of the spiritual death of a third of humanity (false teachings are accepted as true). Their power also lies in their mouths. The serpent’s tail (the deceiver) is the willing spreader of the adversary’s false teachings. Isaiah 9:14-15:
“Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.“
The damage caused is enormous. Yes, indeed. We are in the “age of the sixth trumpet that has long since been heard”.
