Charlie Kirk’s long-awaited book is now available for purchase in the US. The Sabbath is the central theme of the murdered evangelical’s final work. US President Donald Trump supports Kirk’s ideas, but remains uncertain about the precise meaning of “Sabbath” and which day this day of rest refers to.

For many followers of Charlie Kirk (born October 14, 1993, Arlington Heights, Illinois), who was killed in an assassination on September 10, 2025, the wait for the announcement of the publication date of his book seemed like an eternity.

Meanwhile, his book “Stop, in the Name of God,” subtitled “Why honoring the Sabbath will transform your life,” which he completed just one week before his death, is freely available in bookstores in the USA. It immediately reached number 1 on Amazon, already close to being sold out.
As the subtitle clearly indicates, Kirk placed the Sabbath at the center of his life. In numerous interviews, the political activist (founder of “Turning Point USA”) and evangelical Christian made it known that he and his wife observed the Sabbath. Kirk was a fervent supporter and campaign aide to US President Donald Trump, as well as to the political movement “Make America Great Again” (MAGA).

Especially after the memorial service held for Kirk (Info), it is not surprising that Donald Trump, who already has a very pronounced urge to communicate, also published his commentary on the newly released book.

The US people should observe the Sabbath.
The US president is urging Americans to get Charlie Kirk’s book and read it, arguing that it is of utmost importance for people to observe a weekly day of rest. He claims the book provides a clear explanation, written by a shining example, practically a martyr for his faith. Naturally, Trump also emphasized the importance of the day of rest. The big “but” isn’t really surprising, since the weekly day of rest, also known as the Sabbath, “naturally” refers to Sunday, the first day of the week, rather than the biblical seventh day.
A corresponding guideline, indicating that the term “Sabbath” refers to Sunday, is clearly defined in the strategy paper “Project 2025,” published in 2023 (Info). This government program for the “next conservative term,” drafted primarily by the Heritage Foundation, comprises no fewer than 900 pages. With Donald Trump, this administration came “as if by order.”

However, one would have to read the book oneself, because this is where it becomes interesting to see what connection Charlie Kirk had to his aforementioned Sabbath. Rumors are already circulating that Kirk might actually have meant Sunday. As always, however, one shouldn’t rely on hearsay. Essential source research, as always. Because one can’t help but wonder whether Kirk was familiar with the prophecies, especially those in Daniel 7 and various chapters of Revelation.
For with his political activism, he zealously supported the “beast from the earth” described primarily in Revelation 13 (Info). According to Revelation 19:20, this beast also emerges as the “false prophet”.
True Sabbath bitterly opposed
The biblical Sabbath, the Fourth Commandment of God, is not “just” one of the Ten Commandments, but rather, besides its central position on the tablets of the law, it is also a pivotal point in its meaning for all the other commandments and, in particular, the (marking) sign provided by God that emphasizes His authority as the author of creation and the one true, living God (Info). The counterpart, copied and reversed by the great adversary, is his personal chosen day as a day of worship to be honored. This “dragon, the ancient serpent, the devil and Satan” designated the first day of the week, Sunday, for this purpose.
Adhering to the Mithras cult, Emperor Constantine established the Sun Day as a legally binding day of rest and celebration in 321 AD. Just a few decades later, the Bishop of Rome (Council of Laodicea, 365 AD) decided to additionally prohibit the biblical Sabbath, which the Church of Rome defined as the “Jewish Sabbath.” The “The Lord’s Day“, that is, Sunday, had to be sanctified.
Those who rejected the strict fasting day on the seventh day, prescribed by the Church of Rome, and instead fasted on the first, were summarily treated as “murderers of Jesus Christ.” The fasting was intended to make the biblical Sabbath as unpleasant as possible.
Continuous entrenchment of Sunday obligation
The now common term “Christian Sabbath” (for Sunday) was only defined relatively late by the Roman Catholic Church in the wake of the Reformation. However, historical evidence clearly shows that the seventh day, sanctified by God, has been at the center of attacks by the opponents of Jesus Christ from the very beginning. The Church of Rome “perfected” its campaign of annihilation against the Sabbath and its observers, and will continue to do so until its “last breath” (Info).
God provided His (mark) for humanity with the Sabbath on the 7th day (e.g., Mark 2:27), and the adversary consistently defined His 1st day as His (mark) as well, in recognition of His proclaimed authority – The Mark of the Beast (Info).
The “image of the beast” will soon be erected.
The fact that Charlie Kirk’s book, as the subtitle emphasizes, focuses on the Sabbath as a central point, means that, at least since Donald Trump, this day of rest has been automatically relegated to Sunday. A thoroughly false day of rest, one that acknowledges the adversary. Simultaneously, it also represents the ongoing practice of breaking God’s commandment.
Against one’s better judgment, or despite the possibility of learning the truth. It makes absolutely no difference whether the false Sunday is observed out of conviction (mark on the forehead) or out of social and economic pressure (mark on the hand). Whoever is faithful to God and His law adheres to all 10 commandments unconditionally and without compromise.
The “image of the beast” described in Revelation 13 is, of course, not a literal, gold-framed photograph of the current pontiff, but refers to the characteristics of the first beast from the sea. This beast will soon achieve the desired power of the Middle Ages, effectively commanding the will and legislation of the world’s kings as emperor. The beast from the earth possesses the political, economic, financial, and military power to enforce this pronounced character of the first beast worldwide. And its greatest ambition lies in establishing a separate day of worship, as defined by itself.
