Pope Leo XIV’s first major bombshell shocked a whole host of Catholics. Hopes for a return to the “good, old traditions” are dashed. At a climate conference, the Pontiff blessed a large piece of frozen water, a block of ice. The blessing was also very “candid” regarding the actual orientation of the Church of Rome.

Conservatives disillusioned
Hopes were high among conservatives within the equally divided Roman Catholic Church when Pope Leo XIV appeared for the first time on the balcony of St. Peter’s Square immediately after the results of the conclave, wearing the same papal robes as Pope Benedict XVI. Pope Francis was a bit too “liberal” for many believers.

Such “earth-based theologies” as Gaia and Pachamama did not appeal to all Catholics, who are still concerned about various differences with the teachings and practices of the Church and the written Word of God.
If Leo dresses for his first appearance the way Benedict did at his premiere, it looks like a return to “good old tradition.” Besides, Robert Francis Prevost is an Augustinian, and those brothers are, after all, on the pedestal of the “Church Fathers.” But the disillusionment will likely have set in by the time of the International Climate Conference “Raising Hope for Climate Justice” on October 1, 2025, at the Centro Mariapoli (Castel Gandolfo). This event also marked the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’s encyclical “Laudato Si'” (2015)..
Laudato Si – The Standard

The introductory words of the Pope’s speech also contain the motives for this event and the addressees (Source).
“As we commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Encyclical Laudato Si’ on care for our common home, I cordially greet the organizers, the speakers, the participants and all of those who made the “Raising Hope” Conference possible. I especially thank the Laudato Si’ Movement for supporting the dissemination and implementation of Pope Francis message from the very beginning.“
Leo also took stock of the efforts made so far to “save the Earth”:
“The phrase “care for our common home” has also been included in academic, scientific and political addresses and speeches.“
Indeed, this is the case. The World Economic Forum discovered the aspect of faith years ago as having enormous potential for implementing certain narratives not only without mass resistance, but even with their desire (Info).
Blessing a Block of Ice – Demonstrated Paganism
The “highlight” of the event, probably felt especially by Catholic believers, came with Pope Leo’s blessing of a block of ice. Many flocks must have felt a chill run down their spines at the sight of this ritual. A large block of ice was placed on the stage, ready for the Pope to place his hand on and bless it. The Pontiff did so. His blessing was:
“Lord of life, bless this water. May it awaken our herats, cleanse our indifference, soothe our grief, and renew our hope, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Lord, bless this assembly, this conference. May the dialogue we engage in contain respect for all gathered here and the entire earth community. May we work towards a flourishing of all creation held in being by our Creator through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Creation awaits our conversion. So anyway, awaits our conversion. We commit to raising hope to continuing to unfold a river of hope. We move from tears to hope, from grief to action. Let us speak our pledges. Each help us to unfold this river of hope. After each pledge, we invite you to sing the refrain of Laudato Si’ […]“
The blessing for the ice block was evidently not written by Leo himself. He is visibly handed this booklet, and his expression reveals that he is first familiarizing himself with what he is about to announce over the microphone. However, this makes no difference to the outcome.
Following the blessing, a group of Catholic nuns, cardinals, commoners, and a shaman began unrolling a blue sheet of cloth, accompanied by chanting. Apparently a symbol of the “river of hope” emphasized by Pope Leo.
Consistent continuation

Paganism could not have been better demonstrated. This “connection to the earth” was already demonstrated in many ways by Pope Francis, who chose the Franciscan Francis of Assisi as his spiritual mentor. Whether it’s the decorating of the Vatican Gardens with Pachamama figures, the agreements with the shamans in Mongolia, or the dreams of “Oceanus, Uranus, and Gaia” at the World Youth Day in Lisbon in 2023 (Info), the veneration of creation cannot be overlooked.
Leo XIV follows in the footsteps of his predecessor and also those of his namesake Leo XIII without accomplishing anything. A logical continuation, for the “infallible” and therefore unchanging Church of Rome cannot do otherwise. The Church, which had grown and proliferated in the ancient metropolis of Rome, ultimately inherited the genes of the paganism prevalent in Rome at the time. The worship of the Creator in the form of an entire pantheon of “gods.” Dragging the gigantic figure of the Roman god Jupiter from the Pantheon building to St. Peter’s Basilica, only to subsequently give it the name Peter, was not just the beginning.
This church NEVER changed
The only change to date is that this paganism, disguised as Christianity, can be more openly presented to an increasingly undifferentiated society without causing offense to a significant number of observers. After the papacy’s political power was cut in 1798, a change of strategy was necessary.
Brute force could no longer be used to shape people into conformity with the Church. Instead, the high art of seduction followed, using flattery, plenty of honey, and “compassionate charity.” (Info)
Only change of strategy

The adaptation of the “human family” for a collective rebellion against God was no longer achieved through threats, torture, and death, but through deception. Leo XIII initiated this with his social encyclical “Rerum Novarum” (1891). With it, he linked the “theology” of the Roman Catholic Church, with the help of social doctrine based on Hellenistic natural law, with the needs and adversities within human society.
If people’s real problems don’t seem sufficient, then they simply create new ones. Whether real or fictional. The “golden goal,” and given the way things are looking today, this will succeed, is not the enforcement of Roman Catholic paganism, but rather the genuine desire for it. After all, this promises a saving escape from an environment of an unmanageable number of dangers. Anyone who still opposes this will be pushed to the very margins and eliminated by those filled with the “river of hope.”
The “Action Heroes” among themselves

Another celebrity invited and presenting the event was the renowned weightlifter and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Like Leo, Schwarzenegger called for action against the destruction of our shared habitat caused by climate change. Ironically, however, Schwarzenegger is now called upon in real life to advocate for salvation and order, whereas in the fictional film world he has become known primarily for destruction, annihilation, and termination. Yes, Schwarzenegger is an “action hero,” and he also called Pope Leo an “action hero” because of his actions against global climate change.
If a celebrity, accompanied by a large fan base, says it like that, then it must be true, right?
The words of Apostle Paul ignored

Paul was aware of the conditions in Rome that had long been prevalent in his time. If only the church that had grown out of them had listened to the apostle. Paul wrote to the fledgling local congregation:
“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” (Romans 1:21-25)
The real hope these days lies in the fact that as many as possible, even previously devout Catholics, will slowly but surely recognize the belief system they are actually living in. God knows His own, and there are many of them in the orbit of the Church of Rome. God calls these people to leave this environment with the greatest haste and to seek salvation with great strides (Revelation 18:4-5)..
