No law is described as frequently and extensively as the seventh-day Sabbath. It’s as if God knew perfectly well that His fourth commandment would be at the heart of the denial. For the adversary intended from the very beginning to boycott God’s law in every conceivable way, especially the Sabbath.

The Sabbath – With absolute clarity
No other law of God is as extensive, multifaceted, and well-founded as the seventh-day Sabbath, “Saturday.” It is completely incomprehensible why the Reformers, in their “first confession of faith” of 1530, declared the Sabbath commandment a ceremonial law (“Law of Moses”) and accordingly defined it as abolished (Info).
The Reformers were thus fully aware that there were fundamentally two different “laws”: the Law of God (the Ten Commandments) and the Law of Moses (statutes, regulations). The former is holy and eternal, the latter was temporary because sins had been committed and the sacrifice of Jesus was not yet complete (Info). Nevertheless, Martin Luther chose to continue following the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church. This also applies to unusual things like Christmas (December 25th) and Easter (both on Sundays).
Tradition of the Roman Church

Martin Luther was a pronounced anti-Semite. He made no secret of openly expressing his complete inability to tolerate the Jewish people. The centuries-old tradition of the Church of Rome also spoke of the “Jewish Sabbath.” But this was only because the Church of Rome wanted to defend its Sunday (“Saint of the Sun”) and continues to do so to this day. The maw of the dragon, headquartered in Rome (Info).
The topic of the Sabbath, however ironic it may sound, is always guaranteed to liven up dormant discussion forums. Sunday devout Catholics react with the same trigger as Pavlov’s dog. It’s as if they’re always on high alert, ready to defend the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church with all their might, whether they’re Evangelical or Catholic. In practice, they’re Catholic, even if they’d rather ignore it. Then, like a broken record, the arguments against God’s Sabbath follow one after the other.
The inexhaustible excuses

The day is Jewish, the Sabbath has been abolished, one rests “in Jesus” and therefore also on the Sabbath, He is the Sabbath, this day is ceremonial, not moral law, Acts 20:7 proves Sunday, “a” seventh day of rest, not necessarily the absolute seventh day of the week, one can choose the day oneself, precisely as it suits best, etc., etc. The excuses in this case are practically inexhaustible. When the arguments run out, then either the same old repetition occurs, or, much more frequently, a personal attack, accompanied by sheer rage and unadulterated anger.
It was always just a splinter minority
“What a surprise!” Just as stubborn and blind as then, so too today. It has always been only a small minority who either consistently adhered to God’s will or faithfully followed Jesus Christ when the time was right. It has always been the “overwhelming” majority and the corresponding majority opinion that Jesus Christ is a heretic, or that he completely deviated from God’s will. Completely independent of culture and era. It has never been any different. And so it is today. Yet people fail to recognize that this unity among people has absolutely nothing to do with the unity that Jesus Christ will achieve. Rather, it is this majority unity that leads to a common rebellion against God and His eternal, holy law. And people simply don’t “get it” that they are treading broad paths completely contrary to the truth.
This majority defends its cherished tradition. Initially with admonitions, then exclusion, then coercion and persecution, then death decrees.
What was it like “back then”? Jesus Christ’s words:
“Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” (Matthew 15:7-9).
The principle has long been proven

The persecution will begin with uncanny certainty. Pope Leo XIV is pushing everything toward the “great unity,” the legal implementation of Sunday, first in the USA, then globally. All those who adhere to God’s will, undaunted in the face of the coming problems, will be marginalized and ultimately persecuted with full force (Info). Not only by state authorities, but also by ordinary neighbors. Such tactics have already been seen, tested, and practiced in the years 2020 to 2023.
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
