Transformation of the Order of Malta – Pope warns of “evil dividers”

Deutsch

The transformation of the Order of Malta is nearing completion. Pope Francis distributed his blessing in advance, urged unity and also warned against the “evil divider”.

The only thing missing is a new appointment for the grand master

Precursor Templar Orders and Malta Orders are not carnival associations

Pope Francis is still in the process of turning the so-called Order of Malta inside out. Things have been a little restless in this organization for some time. In addition to various new appointments in the management floors, a modified constitution was also introduced last year. The 81st Grand Master of the Order is currently being elected. Since the death of the previous Grand Master Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sangwinetto in 2020, this position has been vacant.

Between January 25 and 29, 111 members of the Order of Malta gathered to elect the new leadership of the Order at a general chapter convened by Pope Francis, Catholics News Agency (CNA) reported. The nine council members of the Sovereign Council had to be re-elected and the four “High Offices” of Grand Commander, Grand Chancellor, Grand Hospitaller and the recipients of the common treasury had to be filled. The post of head of the order remained untouched. This position is currently held by Grand master Fra’ John Dunlap. This was appointed by Francis after the “sudden death” of his predecessor, Fra’ Marco Luzzago. As a next step, the replacement of the grand master must be initiated.

The Pope repeatedly “outed” his position

Pope Francis encouraged the Order of Malta to strengthen its unity. The “charitable mission” must be fulfilled. The pontiff warned of a split. “Let us be careful not to compromise with the tempter, even unintentionally. He often deceives under the guise of good, and what may appear to the glory of God may turn out to be our own boasting,” the Pope said in the striking statement: “The one evil” encourages division.

At this point, one becomes smooth and sensitive. The head of the Roman Catholic Church has already indirectly, but nevertheless unmistakably, declared Saturday (7th day of the week) as the “day of evil and revealed himself through this alone which true position he holds and also represents. The reformers and the early theologians recently agreed on this very much. One wonders why Francis does not name horse and rider, but only speaks of “evil that divides”.

That immediately comes to mind:
Isaiah 5:20:
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
It would have been easy to speak of “the devil, Lucifer or Satan”. So it would remain clear and unmistakable for the “believing sheep”. But there is definitely someone who has announced that he will bring division in the people, and this is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 10:34-36:
” Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”

The sword of Jesus separates the believers from the heathen, idolaters and also from the adversaries. It is therefore no surprise that the pontiff, according to Isaiah 5:20, thinks, acts and teaches especially in the spirit of ecumenism.

Order of Malta purely a relief organization?

The order is known as the “Order of Malta”. This is what the order calls itself in its public appearances. But it is the “Sovereign Order of Knights of Malta” and therefore by no means romantic members who distribute bread rolls to poor people in their carnival costumes. The Order of Malta is a sovereign state, registered on the UN list of countries and has diplomatic relations with over 100 countries, including local diplomatic representation in the form of official embassies.

The term “knight” is merely the historical form of a soldier in the service of the sovereign or the pope. It is a military order, in the service of the pontiff. The tasks of the Order of the Knights of Malta go far beyond the charitable measures that are superficially presented. Among other things, the official representative of the Vatican for the USA is in New York City. The Archbishop placed there, Timothy Cardinal M. Dolan since 2009, is always a “Knight of Malta” and is always represented when the leading elites of the USA, whether Democrats or Republicans, separately or together, in an advisory capacity the future of the country together.

Since the Knights of Malta are exclusively subject to the Pope and so was the predecessor organization of the Knights Templar, it goes without saying that their concerns and international actions are also exclusively in the interest of the Pope. Corresponding measures were already experienced in England in the early 13th century. The fact that the pontiff can reshape the sovereignty-loving Maltese organization so “unmolested” is probably due to the fact that Francis belongs to the Jesuit order.
