The Gospel explains the path to possible salvation to eternal life. The need for every single person. However, some Christians show a little overzealousness and see themselves as a “defender” of the Savior.

Recognizable self-righteousness
Some who call themselves Christians confuse gospel belief with a campaign against unbelief. In the area of Christian topics, profile names such as “Soldier of Christ, Defender of the Faith, Defender of Christianity, Warrior of Jesus” and similar names are circulating on social media. One wonders what this was supposed to represent. During His earthly existence, did Jesus Christ ever recruit soldiers to spread the faith with a drawn sword?
There is a certain amount of self-righteousness evident at this point. In the idea of being in the right faith and acting as a soldier of Christ who wanted to make everything unbelieving disappear from the face of the earth. This error is coupled with a completely misunderstood position. The “defender of Christ” completely forgets that Jesus Christ himself is the advocate on whom man is completely dependent. “Without you you can do nothing,” said Jesus Christ in John 15:5. But the “warrior of Jesus” sees himself as the protector of Jesus, as if God had no other way of helping himself.
Man is more inclined to darkness than to light (John 3:19). Jesus Christ as a human being was the light in this world (John 1:4). Accordingly, He was rejected, persecuted, tormented and ultimately hanged on the cross.
“World peace” was not the goal
However, Jesus Christ did not want to bring peace into the world, as is often erroneously claimed. He brought the sword (Matthew 10:34). Often misunderstood, with a sword made of steel instead of the knowledge of the actual spiritual aspect. The Word of God is like a two-edged sword that cuts through. The separation between believers and unbelievers. Jesus showed displeasure when His disciples misunderstood the sword as literal (Luke 22:38).
The propagated world peace was neither the desired goal (at the time), nor could it ever be achieved through human intervention. All you have to do is look at the recent past. The more there is a call for world peace, the more trouble spots there are on this earth.
The task of Christians
Followers of Jesus Christ are called to spread the gospel to every nation, in every language. So that everyone heard it and could decide accordingly. The believer is called to sow the seeds. Neither more nor less. The seeds sprout here, but not there. But the believer himself cannot influence the germination and growth of the seed. That is the job of the Holy Spirit. However, the free decision of the individual is always preserved.
Endless discussions with people who don’t want to accept the gospel lead to nothing. This also applies to people who place church traditions above statements in the Bible, 2 Timothy 2:23-24:
“But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,”
There are “soldiers” of an anointed one
The “soldiers of Christ” are in any case in danger of not following the “Christ” of the Bible, but rather another “anointed one”. “Christ” means nothing other than “anointed one.” And there are several of them. The Roman pagan “sun god” Mithras is also described as an anointed one, therefore a Christian (Info). According to mythology, this is the one who recruits his earthly soldiers to carry out his work. Mithras marks his soldiers with an “X” on their foreheads. If the “soldier of Christ” celebrates his service on a Sunday (Sun-Day), then he has both feet on the territory of the adversary.
Just let it go
Proclaim the Gospel as it is written, provide help for understanding, but the decision always remains with the person. Coercion, coercion and violence to accept faith is Satan’s method, not God’s method. Looking back at the historical approach of the Church of Rome also proves which “god” this institution actually follows (Info).
Jesus Christ himself set the example of how to deal with those who reject the gospel. He simply let them go (John 6:60-71).
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
John 6:63
