It’s very clear that the Sabbath and those who observe this blessed and holy day are being ridiculed. To this end, the method used, among other things, is the same as that of the serpent in the Garden of Eden. This is very popular today, especially among so-called fact-checkers.

Refuting something that was never said
A common (nasty) method to suppress the truth that exposes a false narrative is to invent a claim that was never made, but then dismantle it with counterarguments. This is regularly observed when so-called fact-checkers, some of whom are funded by public money, attempt to discredit inconvenient truths. They address the topic in broad terms, but then construct a detail that was never said, which is then thoroughly refuted. The goal: to discredit the truth-teller and even ridicule him.
Already used in the Garden of Eden

Indeed, this is an ancient principle, for Satan, the man behind the serpent, already used this method to sow the first seeds of doubt about God’s pure intentions. In the Garden of Eden, God told Adam and Eve they could eat the fruit of all the trees in the garden, but not from one. Only the “tree of knowledge” was taboo. But Satan cunningly asked (Genesis 3:1):
“Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?“
“From no tree”? But God hadn’t imposed that; only the fruit of one tree may not be eaten. Genesis 2:16-17:
“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.“
The True Sabbath in Sight
This approach is, so to speak, a perennial favorite and, even today, especially in this present time, is aimed at the truths of the gospel. At the center of the expression of doubt is once again the Sabbath, the 7th day of the week. Of all the Ten Commandments, which remain fully and unchanged (Info), the Fourth Commandment, the Sabbath commandment, bears particular weight, according to Exodus 20. – Info).
Why the “Jewish” Sabbath?
There is much more to the Sabbath commandment than simply resting and refraining from normal activities, such as regular work, shopping, and entertainment. The seventh day of the week was already established by God as the completion of His creation (Genesis 2:2-3; Ezekiel 20:12;20), reminded of it again to the people of Israel at Mount Sinai, and will be fully preserved in the new earth (Isaiah 66:23).
This day is nothing less than God’s personal sign to His people that He is the true God and Creator of all things (Exodus 31:13), the sole authority, and also the One who will deliver His people from sin. All of this is also clearly described in the commandment verses in Exodus 20:8-11 and Deuteronomy 5:12-16. God blessed and sanctified the Sabbath (the 7th day of the week) and has never revoked this commandment. It was man who desecrated His day (e.g., Ezekiel 22:8).
Identification mark of God

The Sabbath is thus a sign of recognition, a seal of God. Whoever observes the Sabbath, blessed and sanctified by God, as it is written, automatically expresses that they recognize the one true Creator God and submit to His laws. They do not follow some random, fictional god invented by man. Therefore, they do not engage in idolatry and false theology. By (visibly) observing the Sabbath, man also bears public witness.
It is understandable that God’s great adversary, Satan, who began his rebellion even before the creation of mankind, has made the Sabbath, the sign of God’s authority, a sign for mankind, the focus of his attacks. Satan’s rebellion ultimately involves denying God’s authority and legislation and establishing his own authority, which ultimately also seeks to be glorified (Isaiah 14, Ezekiel 28)..
Sabbath Always the Focus
Thus, in the Old Testament, God repeatedly emphasized the disregard of the Sabbath, particularly in response to the people of Israel’s apostasy. This day was trampled upon. Yet time and again, God showed himself to be conciliatory and promised a prosperous future. The prerequisite: “Above all else, keep my Sabbath,” Isaiah 58:13-14:
“If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.“
The Sabbath in the focus of attacks
Satan continues to target the Sabbath above all else. Indeed, especially today, it is not particularly difficult for him to prevent people from observing the Sabbath. When the first Christian communities still observed the true Sabbath, they did so with knowledge, conviction, and faith. The first means of preventing them from doing so, especially in the area around Rome, was legislation by the local bishop. With increasing power, pure violence followed. This is the nature of this state-religious entity. (Info).
Satan used his newly established earthly power, the papacy, after Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and imperial Rome, to eradicate Sabbath-keepers by any means necessary. A veritable campaign against the biblical Sabbath was initiated. (Info).
The inconsistency of the first reformers in the 16th century did not in the slightest change the Sunday observance enforced by the Church of Rome. In addition to the “sanctification” of the first day of the week (“Sunday”), they adopted a whole range of Roman Catholic traditions. The Sabbath according to God’s Fourth Commandment had long since been dismissed in people’s minds as a purely “Jewish Sabbath.” (Info). The Reformers were not far behind the Church of Rome in their treatment of Sabbath-keepers, including the so-called Anabaptists. They were “de-enlivened” on a large scale.
“Fact-checker recipe” against Sabbath keepers
The relationship has long since reversed. While in the first three centuries AD, Sabbath observance was still a majority practice, even though the Bishop of Rome, thanks in part to the “friendly support” of the Mithraic-believing Emperor Constantine, fought against it with increasing vigor, today it is a small minority who, as “non-Jews,” still observe, or again observe, the true Sabbath. Precisely these, the Seventh-day Baptists and especially the Seventh-day Adventists, are therefore increasingly becoming the focus of the attacks hailed by the adversary, albeit in a “fact-checker-based” manner.
For now, because physical persecution will certainly resume, as announced in the Bible (e.g., Revelation 12:17). – Info).
Sabbath deliberately misunderstood

As always, as then, so today. The arguments that the Sabbath must still be observed are supplemented with their own ideas, which are not even up for debate, but these very self-inserted assertions are “gleefully” dismantled in order to ridicule the very idea of Sabbath observance. It is regularly emphasized that Sabbath keepers (allegedly) exclusively prescribe Saturday as the day on which God may be glorified. Others rephrase this as if the Sabbath itself must be worshipped. They would be right to declare this false, but only if this were actually the case..
WWho actually claims this? Only those who also want to refute it. Of course, God can and should be glorified and worshipped every day, not just on the Sabbath (“Saturday”). Furthermore, nowhere in the Bible can one find that the Sabbath itself must be glorified. So why go to church on Saturday? Not to declare the Sabbath the only day of worship, but because Jesus Christ himself set the example of gathering on the Sabbath to study the Scriptures and preach the gospel.
As in Mark 6:2:
“And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue;…“
That this was not a one-off occurrence, but a regular occurrence, is shown by Luke 4:16:
“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.“
What it actually looks like
God can, of course, also be glorified and worshipped on Sundays. The “small difference,” however, lies in whether the Sabbath is still observed or not. Work is allowed on Sundays—indeed, it should be done, for it is said, “after six days of work, you shall rest on the seventh day.” God and the gospel may also be discussed on Sundays, as Acts 20 demonstrates. But all of this does not replace the Sabbath, which, moreover, applies to all people. (Info).
It will end up like it did at the beginning of the now religiously and politically powerful institution, the (Roman Imperial) Papacy and its Roman Catholic Church. Sunday will be enforced as a day of rest, while keeping the true Sabbath will be punished.
When the “wound of the beast from the sea” (Revelation 13 – Info) is finally healed, a scenario similar to that described in the “Dark Ages” awaits humanity. It should be noted at this point that only those who have a serious problem with what is called the “Book of Life” will be surprised by this:
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
