Project 2025 – US Senate considers Sunday protection bill

The Sunday Protection Act planned in the USA under Project 2025 is now taking shape. The US Senate is currently considering a bill by US Department of Labor attorney Jonathan Berry. It would treat Sundays separately for employees and employers. Employers would be charged if they allow employees to work on Sundays.

Concrete implementation of Project 2025

Things are moving forward with “Project 2025” and the regulations it contains regarding Sunday. A quasi-planned government program was already presented during the current US President’s election campaign, “only” a good 900 pages long, in which employees, employers, and the protection of Sunday also play a role. Details here.

According to Project 2025, employees, or employers, would face financial penalties if they still work on a Sunday. It depends on the employer whether they consider Sunday or Saturday a separate religious day. This clearly takes into account the relatively large Jewish community in the United States, which observes the Sabbath (Saturday). But the bottom line is that the planned regulation affects “Christian” employees and thus Sunday.

US Supreme Court paved the way

The U.S. Supreme Court paved the way in this direction with a ruling in the summer of 2023. In this case, a U.S. Postal Service employee sued for being required to work on Sundays, even though it was his special day for worship. The court ruled in favor of the employee (Info).

Meanwhile, the planned legislation for Sunday protection under Project 2025 has begun. Last Wednesday, June 18, 2025, U.S. Department of Labor attorney Jonathan Berry spoke before the Senate and presented the proposed legislation. Jonathan Berry is considered the author of Project 2025. He is likely only the frontman, as the Heritage Foundation is primarily behind the project. Nevertheless, Berry is considered the champion of the implementation of the Sunday Protection Act. Sunday must become a universally protected day.

As things stand now, the proponents of Project 2025 have decided to impose the financial losses on employers. Berry demanded that employers who allow their employees to work on Sundays must increase their wages for Sunday work by 50 percent. Since the number of employees is naturally far greater than the number of employers, they apparently expect a correspondingly strong acceptance of this legislation.

Roman Catholic Agenda

The newly introduced narrative, with the Sabbath being Sunday, is clearly being further cultivated. Berry also had the opportunity to publicize his ideas at talk shows and other events. The Sunday law must be reinstated, according to Jonathan Berry. Emperor Constantine, who introduced the first state-mandated Sunday protection law in 321, serves as a model. The focus of Sunday regulations must be, above all, the time for the worship of God.

Clearly Roman Catholic territory. Emperor Constantine didn’t really lay the “foundation stone of Western civilization,” as Berry puts it, but rather the cornerstone for the then-emerging Roman Catholic Church of the Papacy. The blending of Christianity and paganism that ultimately culminated in the Church of Rome, and even today, despite all its efforts to maintain a Christian appearance, can only be described as “baptized paganism.”

Step by Step

Indeed, often only small steps, with barely visible movement in between, only to then continue with an enormous push. The prophecy of the Bible, in this case specifically Revelation chapter 13, is once again being fulfilled before our eyes (Info). The second beast (from the earth) will implement the demands of the first beast (from the sea) into national law. Undoubtedly, the beast from the earth is the USA (Info). And the beast from the sea represents the “Holy See Department” of the papacy (Info).

The constellation of “two beasts” according to Revelation 13 merely illuminates certain aspects. The entire biblical prophecy, especially the processes and involvement in the end times, is described across several chapters, particularly in the books of Daniel and Revelation (Info).

The US Senate will decide on June 26 how to proceed with the bill.

Sunday protection? Something special?

A law to protect Sunday. In Germany, one might wonder why this should be considered special. A law to protect Sunday was passed as early as 1919 and even enshrined in the Weimar Constitution (Article 139). The law remains in effect today, as Article 139 of the Weimar Constitution is still enshrined in the current Basic Law (Article 140). People have long since become accustomed to it. Therefore, such a Sunday protection law in the USA does not seem like a sensational event. If it were to remain that way, then yes. After all, observance of the true Sabbath would still be possible. But further steps will follow.

Just the Sunday law will not remain

However, if Jonathan Berry refers to Emperor Constantine, and the idea for legislation under the Weimar Constitution also referred to the Roman emperor, then it is also permissible to consider the historical continuation of the Sunday law. Constantine introduced mandatory Sunday protection. Subsequently, a few decades into the larger time frame, the Church of Rome expanded this Sunday protection with an explicit prohibition against observing the Sabbath (“Saturday”) as a holy day, even though it is of biblical origin (Info).

In 364, the Church of Rome held a council in Laodicea. There, it was determined (Canon 29) that Christians were under no circumstances permitted to observe the “Jewish” Sabbath, but were obligated to observe Sunday as the “Lord’s Day.” One can therefore safely assume that after the actual passage of such a Sunday law in the United States, such a ban would be issued much sooner. Sunday would become a religious duty to be kept holy, and another day, especially the Sabbath, would become a mandatory workday. The Church of Rome’s veritable war against the Sabbath, begun in the time of its Church Fathers, would continue to the “bitter end” (Info).

By the way: The “Lord’s Day” is definitely NOT Sunday. This reference appears exactly zero times in the Bible. This is an exclusive idea of the Roman Catholic Church (Info).

The warnings in Revelation 14

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
