“Peace and Security” abused by Rome – today as then

Friedenstaube

Deutsch

“Peace and security” have always had a high priority, at least among “ordinary people”. A “peace” abused for lies and deceit by numerous false prophets and propagandists of great tones. This was true for the time of Israel in the Old Testament as well as for the time of the present.

“Peace” has always been the trump card

“Peace” has long been one of the key words used in the admonishing speeches of the Bishop of Rome, who likes to present himself on the balcony. Pope Francis never tires of encouraging humanity to achieve peace in this world. “War is always a defeat, always,” said the pontiff at the general audience in the Vatican in early May 2024 (Source). “Let us pray for peace. No more war, no more attacks, no more violence. Let dialogue and peace prevail!” said the Pope last April.

Peace to the people of Israel in the Old Testament

Script
Isaiah described our time in type

“Peace and security” only existed occasionally in the people of Israel in the Old Testament in relation to their history. It is obvious that the people could only have peace and prosper economically if they stayed on the path set by God. As a shining example to all Gentile nations that obedience to the one true living God leads to peace, security and abundance in life.

To be the light of this world is the people’s very own task. However, these high periods were a minority in the history of God’s chosen people (Info). The numerous prophets sent by God, far more than those mentioned in the Bible, let alone with their own writing (e.g. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel), were not only witnesses to the apostasy that was repeatedly instituted, but were also often victims of persecution by their own people .

Failed due to his own “stubbornness”.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!” (Luke 13:34), said Jesus Christ during His final entry into Jerusalem. Not following the path set by God was a direct rejection of one’s own free will, as Jeremiah also testifies, Jeremiah 6:16-17:
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

Stubborn donkey
Stubbornness and stubbornness as a constant companion

A “stubborn” people, as the Lord already announced to Moses: “For the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people” (Exodus 33:5). Stumbled again and again by one’s own stubbornness, by clinging to idolatry due to syncretism (today found in ecumenism) and, last but not least, due to the appeasing tones of many false prophets.

The statutes of God and the warnings (Schophar’s horn) thrown to the wind. The open rebellion against God always had consequences, despite the patience that is intangible to man. Again and again, God had mercy on His people and granted time and opportunity to return to the right path. The camel’s back finally overflowed with the rejection of Jesus Christ and the stoning of the Apostle Stephen. The final deadline already announced by Daniel expired. (Daniel 9 – Info). In 70 AD Jerusalem and its temple were completely destroyed after the second siege by the Romans under the general Titus.

If you don’t learn anything, history repeats itself

Peace for the people of God, and in this sense also for all of humanity, is only guaranteed if God’s statutes are observed in obedience. How can the Christian in particular, who should actually know exactly, expect that God will simply look on “perplexed” when His statutes are trampled on? “There is nothing new under the sun,” is the true saying of wise King Solomon. History inevitably repeats itself if people have not learned anything from the past. And people hardly learn anything from their own history because of their “stubbornness”. This is considered historically certain.

False prophets commonplace

The people of Israel, who had repeatedly fallen away from God, were kept happy by a whole series of self-proclaimed prophets with well-sounding words and especially on the wrong path. These false prophets were fond of proclaiming peace and security, suggesting that there was no need to abandon the current path, which was nothing other than rebellion against God. They were deceived and allowed themselves to be deceived, because pleasant words that promise peace go down like balm. This is despite the fact that the writings described the exact opposite with the numerous warnings from the prophets who had appeared so far.

There is absolutely no reason to suspect that things could be different today. God never changes, His love and justice last forever, His words are unchangeable, His laws are carved in stone, His words written on paper are the eternal gospel. How should it be determined that God should be “different” today? Nowhere. Humans and their always flexible moral concepts, which are defined by their “own reason,” have changed. But not God.

The more admonition, the more unrest

Pope Speech
When the Pope speaks, the world listens

At this time, when wars, unrest and rebellions have increased worldwide despite constant calls for peace, the desire and exhortation for the longed-for world peace is only being shouted louder in response.

What cynicism it “would be” if the constant exhortation of finally realized peace was also the spiritual author of most of the wars, rebellions and unrest waged in this world. All that would be needed is a willing international superpower as a well-functioning tool. Archbishop Quigley made the following statement in 1903:
Within twenty years this country is going to rule the world. Kings and emperors will soon pass away, and the democracy of the United States will take their place. The west will dominate the country, and what I have seen of the western parochial schools has proved that the generation which follows us will be exclusively Catholics. When the United States rules the world the Catholic church will rule the world.
(other historically accurate statements).

What humanity can observe with its own eyes today – provided they are open – hits the “beast from the earth” according to Revelation 13 like the nail on the head (Info). Which nation on this planet claims to engage in global intervention to ensure “peace and security”? Which organization claims the same? On November 8, 2010, the then US President Barack Obama declared in a speech to the Indian Parliament: “The United Nations exists to realize its founding goals: maintaining peace and security through global cooperation and the implementation of human rights.

False prophets talk about false prophets

“Peace” was the first word chosen by the false prophets in the Old Testament. “Peace” is still very popular today. The reading of the verses Jeremiah 23:16-29 by the media mouthpiece of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) with the title “Against false prophets” already shows a certain humor. (Source). The false prophet reads something against false prophets using one of the questionable editions of a Bible. The editors of more recent Bible translators seem to have recognized this modern parallel to the events according to the Old Testament. Striking passages that show false prophets and their false promises of peace have changed somewhat.

“Peace” became something else

The Bibles “Schlachter 2000” and “Luther 2017” are German-language editions. The example verses are translated from German.

Verse Schlachter 2000 (“conventional”) Luther 2017 (“modern”)
Jeremiah 23:17 They continually say to those who despise me, “The LORD has said, ‘You will have peace.‘ And to all those who walk in the hardness of their hearts they say, ‘There will be no evil.’ come upon you!” They say to those who despise the word of the LORD, It will be well with you; and to all who walk in the stubbornness of their hearts they say, No evil will come upon you.
Daniel 11:24 In the midst of peace he will penetrate into the most fertile regions and do what neither his fathers nor his forefathers did: he will disperse spoil, robbery and wealth among them, and he will plot against the fortresses; and this will take some time. And unexpectedly he will come into the best cities of the land and will do what neither his fathers nor his forefathers did, and will distribute plunder, spoils and goods to his people; he will seek the strongest cities, but only for a limited time.
Micah 3:5 This is what the LORD says about the prophets who lead my people astray, who cry “peace” when their teeth have something to bite, but who declare holy war against him who puts nothing in their mouth: Thus saith the LORD against the prophets who deceive my people, who preach that it will be well if they are given food; but whoever does not put anything in their mouths, they declare war on him.

Daniel 11:24 describes the “Northern King” who will one day take economic and military action against the “Southern King” and also overrun him. A spectacle staged for the public, as the North and South kings secretly sit at the same table and tell lies (Daniel 11:27 – Infos). This northern king will carry out his raids “in the midst of peace”. These “raids” are to be understood spiritually. He brings destruction because of his false teachings. The teachings of the “god of fortresses” he worshiped, i.e. the paganism of Rome.

Supposed peace through Jesus Christ

“Jesus Christ came into the world to bring peace on earth,” is a theory that is often heard and read. This “spirit of peace” is required today. But was that actually the case? For the correct answer, it is enough to look at what Jesus Christ himself said.

Matthew 10:34:
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Luke 12:51:
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

Peace - Sun
Papal peace only exists under the sign of the ‘divine’ sun

The “spirit of peace” propagated primarily from Rome is the exact opposite of what Jesus Christ intended. Only the name of Jesus is used by Rome to misuse His name for their own purposes. For example, when Jesus Christ spoke to His disciples about peace, then only about inner peace, which can only be found in God or Jesus Christ.

But He did not speak of a “political-military” peace on this planet. Jesus Christ spoke plainly about this during His Sermon (Matthew 24). We live in an area ruled by the “Prince of the World.” In any case, it is illogical to think that world peace can prevail if God’s statutes are completely ignored. The people of God in the Old Testament were chastised and purified for constant transgressions, and today God turns a blind eye? Unfortunately, this is exactly how it is conveyed today.

A cautious look ahead

Things will become even more restless on this planet. Much more restless, completely contrary to the Pontiff’s many admonitions (of course). This will continue until humanity is on the brink of man-made abyss. The stories will be that humanity is on the verge of collapse because God wants to demand His rights. The “saving hand of divine reason” extended from Rome will be accepted with all gratitude. A cynical game, because the biblically announced catastrophes at the hands of God are staged in advance and therefore seem convincing.

Calm will also return and peace and security finally seem to become a reality. Precisely the supposed time of peace that is misleadingly referred to as futurism (Pre-Rapture? Info). But this quiet time only lasts for a very short time, because the deception lies simply in the fact that it is not the real statutes of the true God that are followed, but rather the dictates of Rome, because 1. Thessalonians 5:3:
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

During the artificial peace based on obeying the statutes of Rome, those who do not obey the “Emperor of Rome” but the true God of the Bible will stand out. What do people who hold firmly to the Word of God, His commandments and the testimony of Jesus have to fear beyond the persecution that the prophets of the Old Testament once suffered?:

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Psalm 91:5-8
