In the USA, a businessman who turned into an online pastor brought numerous sheep to give up their “wool” for investment in a “heavenly cryptocurrency”. More than 3 million US dollars ended up directly in the unattainable afterlife.

When the cerebral convolutions tighten
“Greed eats brains,” is a well-known saying. And where the brain already seems pretty frayed, pretty much anything is possible. How do you become a millionaire quickly? You set up a purely online church with minimal financial outlay, present yourself as the “chosen pastor” and also set up your own cryptocurrency. You already have a gilded platform for collecting insatiable, bleating sheep.
Online pastor with “divine” cryptocurrency
In the metropolis of Denver, the capital of the US state of Colorado, Eli Regalado and his wife Kaitlyn had the promising idea of founding such an online church and the corresponding crypto unit. The Internet church was given the name “Victorious Grace Chruch,” while the cryptocurrency was given the secular-sounding name “INDXcoin.” The number of followers of this church grew over time. On August 22, 2022, “Pastor” Eli Regalado shared a “divine” message with his gathered online community, The Denver Post reports (Source).
“It was last October that the Lord brought this cryptocurrency to me. He said, ‘Take this to my people for a wealth transfer.’ It has been confirmed a hundred times since“, Regalado explained to his flock that part of the path set for “his” people was to train them to understand the principles of finance in the kingdom. Therefore, by participating in this cryptocurrency, many of the people will have more money than ever before in their lives.
Now a lot of patience would have been necessary
However, this “training” was not very sustainable. After around 300 sheep from this online community couldn’t believe their “divine luck” and invested a total of around 3.4 million US dollars in this cryptocurrency, the exchange and the INDXcoin were closed together. But Regalado had an explanation. He presented himself on behalf of God with the following message:
“Stay where you’re at. Stay in INDXcoins. Stay with where I’m telling you to go. I’m going to make a way. Just take that word as gospel truth and execute on that word and do not worry about how the money’s going to happen. I really believe you’re going to see a miracle in very short order“.
Regulator misses the miracle
However, the miracle of whatever kind did not materialize. The non-occurrence of the miracle was also confirmed by the state regulator. This brought charges against the online pastor and his wife for securities fraud. The authorities have since determined that it would actually have taken a miracle to provide the investor flock with more wool. Instead they were shorn.
At least $1.3 million of the investment went directly to the shepherd of this community. Because of this “heavenly providence,” he and his wife had a new Range Rover, jewelry, boat rentals and snowmobile adventures, luxury handbags, a renovated home and an au pair. The prosecution therefore assumes that the “pastor” never intended to ever pay the money back. Regalado’s assurance to his flock that the money would be used for widows and orphans so that they could pay their “tithe” was also exposed by the supervisory authority as an unsurprising lie. The “widow” and “orphan” was always Regalados himself.
Worldly technical defects
It was almost to be expected that from a purely technical point of view everything wasn’t going well. The cryptocurrency was last sold over the virtual counter for $1.5 per unit. All sheep investors were promised that each unit would be worth $10. The issue quantity was limited to 30 million units. According to the supervisory authority, at least $300 million should have been available as cover. But investigators were only able to scrape together $30,000.
In addition, there is a catastrophic implementation of this crypto unit. A security company specializing in cryptocurrency took a close look at this INDXcoin alongside other digital currencies. The main concern is security against cyber attacks. This company gave this INDXcoin a “zero point zero” on a scale between 1 and 10. Regalados therefore knew this zero number.
Heavenly investments now in the afterlife
There is little hope of a refund of the money invested. Since the exchange and cryptocurrency themselves no longer exist, this option is not possible. All that remains is the “pastor’s” private box, but this path must first be paved through the judicial promptings. Initially, the accounts of the “pastor” and his wife were frozen for 14 days. The “rest” will follow. Many a bruised sheep will probably be shocked. The “pastor” had communicated salvation via a video message. God reminded Eli and Kaitlyn that nothing could possibly be screwed up.
Dominance of the disconnected mind
One can safely assume that the gospel never played the slightest role for this “pastor”. If something else had worked the same way, then Regalado would probably have appeared as “Bob the Builder” with his crypto unit “HAMMERCoin”. It was merely the means to an end and as we all know, “the end justifies the means.”
What is particularly remarkable is the radical deactivation of one’s own thinking apparatus when it comes to increasing one’s own financial assets. In this case, in many different ways. This applies to the “pastor” as well as to the sheep who are now bleating particularly loudly.
What did the self-sanctified couple actually imagine? That hundreds of investor believers could be kept happy and hopeful until doomsday? Fraud would be understandable, while still in the status of an anonymous person, and then up and away. But here Eli and Kaitlyn were known by name and so was the location of the stock exchange and online church. At some point, just remove the nameplate from the newly renovated house and you can no longer be found?
If this online would-be pastor had at least some understanding of the gospel and also used his own potential intelligence, he would know that the same people who are investing a lot of money in the “name of God and his calls to increase wealth” are the same people, who will throw the same god into the trash much more quickly if their existing assets are questioned. Their patience for the realization of promised miracles is as short as the hair of a Telly Savalas.
What exactly is “value” anymore?
The real “value” of this whole currency binge is no longer up for discussion at all. The term “value” is one of those terms that have already been completely stripped of their actual meaning. Something usually has value, even though this actually only represents the price that others are willing to pay. How else would it be possible that something “valuable” today can be something completely “worthless” the very next day? A gold pin is “worth” more than a bottle of water. Bet that half-dehydrated people in a sandy desert will fight over the almost “worthless” water bottle?
Purely virtual values
Now every ordinary currency is only measured at the value that was dictated by one authority. This is expressed as a number printed in color on a piece of paper. So the pure agreement that you receive an equivalent in selected goods for the value shown.
Money was once viewed as such, as it is actually still defined today. A piece of silver or gold shaped into a specific shape. Its size or weight defined the money value. Naturally in ancient times and still handled this way in individual regions today, the wealth expressed as value was in camels, sheep, donkeys, cows, fabrics, cloths, etc. Not as handy as colorful pieces of paper and small metal plates, but at least with real substance .
Cryptocurrency puts you on top
But what does this cryptocurrency represent? A consistent continuation of the already virtual value of what is now referred to as money. A cryptocurrency consists simply of a combination of ones and zeros, a mathematical quantity. This in turn only describes the respective state of an electrical charge. This cryptocurrency only exists until someone unplugs it from the powerline.
Today, millions of people are willing to exchange their remuneration, which in reality is only proportionally left over through the use of their lifetime working time, into such a purely virtual unit and to describe this as an asset with a value. In doing so, they acquire numerous things, which in turn lose their “value” as they age.
Even the so-called intrinsic value of a gold coin can be questioned. Accepted as an investment for thousands of years. For this reason, people were robbed, pillaged, cheated, murdered, and even entire peoples were exterminated. The riches that are openly displayed in many of the so-called houses of worship must come from somewhere (e.g. Revelation 17:4). After all, this now immeasurable wealth was already the case centuries before a church tax was introduced (in Germany). But gold is also just a metal. It has a particularly attractive color, it is soft and easy to process, it is rare, it does not “rust” and requires a lot of effort to extract. But it’s just a metal.
The Gospel describes it quite well
Whether people run after real material values, or purely virtual entities, like these flashy sheep in the Denver area, it will be of no use. Whatever one may believe, the general rule is at least: “You came naked, you will leave naked”.
The person who prefers to search the Bible themselves rather than follow would-be pastors will also come across Peter’s statement, 1. Peter 1:6-7:
“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:“
When the word “revelation” comes to mind, Revelation 18:17 and 19 immediately come to mind, which are a strong reminder that the “great values” in this world could be wiped out with the unplugging of a plug. Here the language is about judgment on “Babylon”. (Info).:
“For in one hour so great riches is come to nought.
Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. “
For those who would like to impersonate Scrooge McDuck during their lifetime, James has a rather refreshing preview, James 5:1-3:
“Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.“
