The styles of the so-called Protestant churches’ obvious apostasy from the gospel are becoming more and more colorful. The regional church of Baden-Württemberg draws on occult fairy tales that have long since been removed from the Bible and uses them to create a “blessing from God” for travelers.

Catholic and Protestant Bibles
Books thrown out of the biblical canon seem to be coming back into fashion. The Bible of the Roman Catholic Church contains a few more books as a “standard package” than the Bibles according to the Reformation. The Catholic standard translation contains a total of 73 books, divided into 46 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament. The Luther Bible contains a total of 66 books, 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament.
The difference in the number of books only exists in the Old Testament. The Catholic version also contains the books of Tobit, the 1st book of Maccabees, the 2nd book of Maccabees, Qohelet, the book of Wisdom, the book of Baruch and the book of Jesus Sirach. Precisely those who, on the part of the reformers, are best described as apocryphal.
The reason why the Reformers removed these books from the canon is obvious. Either these are writings that are on a par with stories like “Alice in Wonderland” and “Lord of the Rings,” or they are stories that contradict the “big rest” of the entire writing in individual details. They are not inspired by the Holy Spirit and therefore cannot be the Word of God.
A penchant for fantasy stories
It is no secret that the once Protestant churches have long since moved away from the spirit of the first reformers (Info). It’s obvious. According to the teachings of these apostate churches, it is neither the Word of God, even if it is only about individual passages at will and pleasure, nor do they attach any importance to truthfully proclaiming the Gospel.
The extent to which the return to the mother organization in Rome, or from the perspective of the Catholic Church the rebellion that has ended, has already been manifested is shown by an extremely strange publication by the Evangelical Church of Baden-Württemberg. An attempt to bring “God’s blessing” to people traveling during the holiday season. A laudable thought in itself, but this does not seem to be the God of the Bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God who led the people of Israel out of Egypt with a stretched arm and a strong hand, but rather a “God”. the occult world.
The book of Tobit
As strange as this already seems, the book of Tobit serves as the basis for this “blessing” of the church that calls itself Protestant. Tobit (or Tobias, Tob) is a story with the character of a fairy tale. This story tells of two Jewish families residing in Nineveh and Ecbatana. It tells of a demon named Ashmodai. This demon is a notorious murderer who kills the groom after every wedding night.
The “Angel Raphael” also appears, a messenger and helper sent by God. He takes Tobias, Tobit’s son, to offer him protective escort on his travels and to teach him the art of preparing magic remedies from the entrails of a magic fish. This means that Tobias is able to heal blind people. Tobias healed his father Tobit of his blindness. This magic potion can also drive away demons.
Rightly thrown out
It is understandable that the Reformers removed this book of Tobit from the regular canon of the Bible and marked it as an apocrypha. However, it is equally understandable that the Church of Rome obviously likes this legend. It almost goes without saying that the book of Tobit is also a part of the Septuagint (LXX). A Greek translation of the Old Testament by 72 scholars from the Alexandria area.
Influenced by Hellenistic philosophy, the Septuagint was not without strong traits of Gnosticism. The errors, some of which are easy to understand in the Septuagint, are reason enough not to use this translation as an object of study, but at best as a doorstop (Info).
Hellenistic philosophies
Correspondingly also the origin of the book of Tobit. Chronologically or historically, the story contains errors. According to the story, the event takes place in the 8th century BC. However, silver coins play a role in the story. This first existed in the 4th century in the area of influence of the Medo-Persian Empire. In addition, there are inconsistencies in the geographical conditions according to the stories.
The dating for the time the book was written describes the period from the 3rd to early 2nd century BC. This would mean that the Greek Empire had already been established and its philosophy would also be decisive. Many “experts” do not agree on where it originated. One assumption points to the area of Egypt due to the Achikar material used. This would bring Alexandria, the stronghold of Gnosticism, into play. The area of Persia is mentioned as an alternative. Even Judea is under discussion.
The bottom line is that the book of Tobit is a story from antiquity, in the character of “Harry Potter”. Travellers, blind people, murderous demons, angels in human form, magic fish and magic potion.
Occult fairy tales as “God’s blessing”
For the regional church of Baden-Württemberg, this book, which was actually justifiably removed from the Bible, is clearly attractive enough to turn it into a “real blessing from God”. Those responsible for this taxpayer-funded institution published the following “blessing” on social media and also on their own website. (Source):
“May the God who lives in heaven protect you and bring you back to me safely. And may his angel accompany you with his protection.
So may Almighty God, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, bless you.”
The regional church presents this “blessing” as the travel blessing from the Book of Tobit, Chapter 5, Verse 17. This actually reads (Source):
“Tobit said, ‘Blessing be upon you, brother.’ Then he called his son and said to him: ‘Son, prepare whatever you need for the journey, and set out with your kinsman. May God in heaven protect you on the way and bring you back to me safe and sound; may his angel accompany you for your safety, son.’ “
In this case, according to the stories in the book of Tobit, the language is spoken by an “angel Raphael”. An “angel” who only appears in the book of Tobit and is generally even referred to as an archangel. Raphael does not appear in the Jewish Tanach. This “angel” appears in the Babylonian Talmud when he is said to have healed Abraham of an illness. In Catholicism, Raphael serves as the patron saint of the sick and pharmacists. His name means “God heals”. Raphael is also revered in esoteric circles.
The aspect of a “medical angel” alone contradicts the biblical statements. First of all, Raphael does not appear anywhere else except in the book of Tobit and furthermore there is a clear statement regarding healing in Exodus 15:26:
“…for I am the LORD that healeth thee.“
A fourth in the league?
The blessing formula with God first, followed by the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is extremely questionable. A formulation that is also reminiscent of an equally strange baptismal formula used by the Evangelical Churches in Germany (Info). Jesus Christ called to baptize “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” However, this saying used by the Baden-Württemberg regional church still contains an “additional God” in the first position. Who should this be?
This constellation used only makes sense when you move into the area of pantheism. This polytheism, whether in ancient Egypt, in the Greek Empire or in the Roman Empire, constellations of main gods and “non-transparent” origin gods always played a role. According to the Egyptian “Book of the Dead”, Osiris is the father of Horus. The mother is Isis. Osiris and Isis are siblings and share the same “superior” father, Geb.
The sun god of the rather mysterious Mithras cult was also sent by a “higher god”. Since the Roman Catholic Church is actually not based on the foundation of the Gospel, but on the exclusive “men’s club” of the Mithraic cult, it is very obvious that the subsidiary Landeskirche Baden-Württemberg, which returned to Rome, acts in this spirit of pantheism.
A strong indication of such a pantheistic attitude within the Protestant churches is the hanging of an oversized globe in the middle of St. Martin’s Church in Memmingen, which was declared an art exhibition. This globe was given the name “Gaia”. According to Hellenistic mythology, this is the “birthing goddess of the earth” (Info).
All of this within the framework of the post-modern gospel of “preservation of creation” and thus in the strict and loyal line of the Roman Catholic Church. Just two days ago, Pope Francis called for people to open their hearts to the “screaming earth.” (Info).
Separation from the Gospel Completed – Still in the Fall
You can twist and turn it however you want. Such actions and ideas on the part of the Protestant churches prove time and again that their apostasy from the Gospel, from their actually intended mission of carrying God’s message of salvation into the world, has long since been completed. Only the entire fall height has not yet been bridged. There is still room for further fall until the sediment is reached.
Just as Herodia called on her daughter to demand the head of John the Baptist from Herod, the daughter of the Church of Rome will also influence the state institutions to demand the heads of the remaining faithful to God. Those who continue to keep the commandments of God and bear the testimony of Jesus (Info).
But God will not leave this unanswered. Aptly depicted as frogs in the book of Revelation. The dragon (Satan), the beast (popery), and the false prophet (apostate Protestantism) are filled to the rafters with demons and “unclean and hateful birds” (Revelation 18:2). Frogs. They have a disproportionately large mouth and catch their prey with their tongue. False teachings and demons as their prompters. This will all come to an end, finally.
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
