Cardinal Marx (inadvertently?) clarifies biblical prophecies

At the 2024 annual reception of the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising, Archbishop Reinhard Cardinal Marx took the floor and, with his speech, probably completely unconsciously clarified a handful of Bible prophecies. The EU entity and the Roman Catholic Church are the focus.

Christianity is the religion of the future

In a speech at the annual reception of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, Cardinal Marx revealed the ambitions that the Roman Catholic Church has doggedly pursued for many centuries. This is particularly interesting because this announcement is aimed directly at the approximately 600 invited guests from church, business, social and political circles. For the archbishop, Christianity is a “religion of the future”, of progress and possibilities (Source).

According to Marx, Christianity did not spread because it was “commanded from above,” but because people understood the Gospel as a “step forward,” into the vastness. In this way, horizons were opened, a tailwind was felt and no depression was felt.

Etwas verwirrte Interpretation

If one sets aside the instrument of complete amnesia regarding Roman Catholic history, the question arises as to why this Church did not allow the “tailwind” for centuries and declared the “suppression” of the Gospel addressed by the cardinal the order of the day. This reach into the deep past is permissible above all because Marx himself looked back 1,300 years when addressing the diocese’s anniversary, and more importantly, brought an unfinished “European-Christian project” into play.

What Marx actually meant by “Christianity” is Catholicism, but not the written Word of God.

Das “europäisch-christliche Projekt”

In the history of Europe, the Roman Catholic Church played not just one, but the significant role. Cardinal Marx emphasized the “close connection between Europe and Christianity” and addressed the developments in the eighth century in central Europe. This has its own history and cannot be separated from each other and will continue to be connected in the future, “in whatever way,” said Marx.

Attempts at unification by Charlemagne

What happened in the 8th century that can be interpreted as the beginning of the “European-Christian project”? The Church of Rome, which emerged in a seamless transition from the ancient Western Rome, had nothing less in mind than to build an imperial empire in order to hold in its hands the imperial orb and scepter for the entire globe at the peak of its aspirations. This church took its first big step with Charlemagne.

He was King of the Frankish Empire from 768 to 814 and was the first Western European since ancient times to be granted the imperial dignity by the Bishop of Rome. On December 25th, the birthday of “Sol Invictus” (“Unbesiegbare Sonne”, Mithraismus – Info), Pope Leo III crowned the King of Franconia emperor in the year 800.

An enforcer of the papacy

Charles was a willing henchman and representative of the interests of the papacy. Just as the Merovingian Clovis led the battles for the Bishop of Rome at the end of the 5th and beginning of the 6th century, Charles was also eager to shape the conditions in Europe entirely according to the Pope’s ideas. Well-known campaigns were directed against the Lombards and especially against the Saxons. Charles was only able to defeat the latter through an “extra-protocol perfidy” after he had lured the unarmed Saxon princes into a trap and had them assassinated.

The result of the wars waged by Charlemagne was a “united Europe” with a single currency and with the Pope as the undisputed head of all heads. This imperial structure, which was created according to the Roman model, was called the “Holy Roman Empire”, with the attribute “of the German Nation” added later (from 962). This Roman Catholic Empire was hit hard by the Reformation and lasted until 1806. Napoleon consequently dissolved the “Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation” after he deposed the “divine and adorable emperor in Rome” from all of his usurped political functions in 1798.

Probably the last “project”

EU papacy

The dream of the papacy was shattered for the time being, but not yet over. There is already an alternative or successor project, the European Union. It makes sense that the beginnings were made in Rome (Treaties of Rome, 1957) and the anniversary celebration under the statue of the Pope was also celebrated in Rome. The Maastricht Treaty in 1992 sealed the deal for the EU. The agreement on the common constitution has not yet been ratified. But don’t worry about it.

For the Jesuit Henri de Lubac it was always clear that such a European unification had to take place within a Catholic environment. “Catholicism is religion. It is the form that humanity should take in order to finally become itself. It is the only reality that, in order to be, does not need to oppose itself, that is, everything other than a ‘closed society’” (Faith from Love, Einsiedeln, 1992, page 263).

A union of (former) countries, a common currency, common political goals, open society, led by governors called governments, subject to the ultramontane, godlike and adorable emperor in Rome. The not yet completed “European Christian project”.

Empty words should not be missing

Cardinal Marx also explained: “The history of the Church is not only one of saints, but also of mistakes. We are not letting up in the process of coming to terms with it, we are confronting the issue and will not stop there.” If this institution were to begin actually dealing with its mistakes, it would be busy doing so for a millennium. Therefore, once again empty words from the Archbishop of Munich and Freising.

Cardinal highlights prophecies

Book of Daniel
Prophecies in Daniel & Revelation insightful

It is fascinating how Cardinal Marx addresses so many points of Bible prophecy through his speech on the history and ambitions of the Roman Catholic Church. The smooth transition from pagan Rome to the Roman Church is described in Daniel 8 (the “little horn” – Info).

Confirmation of prophecy in Daniel 2

Marx particularly beautifully confirmed the statue depicted in Daniel 2. Catholic Church in power automatically means fusion of church and state. This has been the case since Charlemagne and is also the aim of the EU. The cardinal expresses this as a “own story” that cannot be separated from each other. This connection will exist “in whatever way,” said the cardinal.

This compound resembles a combination of iron and clay. The respective properties of the individual materials are difficult to adhere to one another and are not so stable that they can withstand any load. The character in Daniel 2:42-43 is described as follows:
And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

This means nothing other than that this “shaky constellation” EU will remain an unstable affair until the “bitter end”, because it follows according to verse 45:
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

Confirmation Prophecy Revelation 17

The unstable EU constellation also illustrates the roles played by the governments of the individual member states since the Treaties of Rome and Maastricht were in place. In Revelation 17 (Info) the animal described has 10 heads, but no crowns, as was the case in Revelation 13, for example.

The “fatal wound” to one of the heads described in Chapter 13 was inflicted on the animal in 1798 during the political overthrow of the papacy. The “42 months” had expired (Info). The power over the (real) kings of the countries was lost. With the French Revolution, the monarchies also ceased to exist and were successively replaced by democracies (republics). In Revelation 17, these “new” rulers are also described “like” kings. Although it has a leadership role, it is no longer within a monarchical absolute rule.

These 10 (pseudo) kings will hand over their power to the beast (from the bottomless pit). In plain language: Those in power, already within a “cosmopolitan” but unstable community, will hand over their power to the papacy. The only remaining “omnipotence” of exemplified morals and ethics.

Hint Revelation 12

Nimrod didn’t make it, Charlemagne didn’t make it either, and in the end the Church of Rome will actually achieve its goal, but this “only” concerns the achievement of its desired ecclesiastical and political monopoly power. However, the Church will not be able to convince everyone of the extremely strange understanding of the Gospel, of Christianity itself, presented in this speech by Cardinal Marx.

Here the “war cry” described in Revelation 12 will be fully developed against all people who still keep the commandments of God and bear the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 12:17:
“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

Book of Revelation
Only a few open prophecies left

Thus, the Roman Catholic Church can completely return to the element it lost in 1798 by seducing the only apparent state and its daughters (once evangelical churches) to persecute all the remaining people who are faithful to God. The sad thing is that the majority of humanity, conditioned according to a unified human family and thus misled, will not only watch this activity with benevolence, but will also actively participate in it (Info).

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
