With the approval of Parliament, the federal government has now significantly loosened the reins on pedophilia in Germany. The possession and distribution of child pornographic materials is now no longer a crime, but only a misdemeanor. The corresponding scene cheers.

Government presented draft law
A change in the law made by the German Bundestag is causing a stir. With the necessary majority, the Bundestag voted to delete a passage in the Criminal Code (§ 184b) on “dissemination, acquisition and possession of child pornographic content”. The draft law (20/10540) introduced by the federal government on March 3, 2024 was approved with the votes of Alliance 90/The Greens, FDP and SPD. The CDU and CSU voted against it, the AfD abstained (report Bundestag).
The goal that has now been achieved concerns the reduction of the offense from a felony to just a misdemeanor. The previously envisaged penalties for the possession and distribution of child pornographic content of at least 1 year in prison will be reduced accordingly to 3 months (possession) and 6 months (distribution).
The official reason
The German Bundestag (Source) justifies this measure as a correction to the tightening of sentences carried out in 2021. This led to “significant problems” in practice.
The stricter minimum sentence for child pornography offenses in 2021 has led to significant problems in practice. The federal government wanted to fix this. As an example, those responsible cite a case study in which parents or teachers can get into a conflict if they find such material on adolescents’ smartphones, want to keep it safe or send it to warn others. In other cases, people come into possession of child pornography content without their own will, such as through automatic downloading in chat groups. Such a case is currently before the Federal Constitutional Court(?).
Simply delete instead of differentiating
So this passage was deleted from the criminal code or removed from the area of crime, instead of finding an approach to separately record the “preservation of evidence for warnings”. The draft law presented by the federal government has been classified as “particularly urgent” and Article 2 stipulates that this change in the law will come into force immediately after promulgation.
No exclusivity from the federal government
In view of the measures already implemented by some kindergartens that set up masturbation rooms for their wards, the case study presented by the Bundestag in connection with teachers appears to be quite understandable. However, such “educational introduction spaces for early childhood sexuality” in kindergartens are not exclusive to the federal government.
In Switzerland people are amazed at the sometimes violent reactions in the country (Source).
There is also enthusiasm
The pedophile scene rejoices. The feminist magazine “Reduxx”, founded by the Canadian Anna Slatz, reports on the Germany-based pro-pedophile site “K13” and its reaction to the federal government’s reduced sentence. Those affected are advised to apply for a suspension of current legal proceedings in order to benefit from the new legislation.
The founder of “K13”, Dieter Gieseking, who has a previous conviction for pedophilia, received a platform from the left-green magazine “taz” in March 2014 to spread his goals (Source):
“If a pedophile can come out without fear of exclusion or even demonization, then this is the best prevention against child abuse. The motto should be: My boyfriend is a pedophile – so what?“
There was horror
The adoption of the draft law by the German Bundestag did not go unnoticed by the Christian media. This is what the magazine “The Christian Post” writes (Source):
“In an absolutely indefensible, morally reprehensible ruling, Germany has greatly reduced the legal consequences of child pornography. There is no universe in which such a ruling can be justified. The very thought of it is despicable.“
Social acceptance sought
Defining pedophilia in general as a “normal aspect” in society has long been underway. On this point too, those responsible in Germany seem to want to carry the flag of the international bellwether. A “pioneering role” with a lot of catching up to do. As early as 2020, child rights activists in Great Britain launched a petition against the great dangers of the “Equality Act 2010” (Source). Legislation that also treated pedophilia as a “sexual orientation” and therefore should not be discriminated against.
“Science” has adapted
“Science” has apparently adapted its view of pedophilia to the zeitgeist. A study published in the renowned “National Library of Medicine” comes to the conclusion that allegations against pedophiles lead to their stigmatization and that this must be reduced (Source). The study states:
“The stigmatization of people with pedophilic sexual interests is a topic of growing academic and professional consideration, owing to its potential role in moderating pedophiles’ emotional well-being, and motivation and engagement in child abuse prevention schemes.
Thus, improving attitudes and reducing stigmatization toward this group is of paramount importance. Prior research has suggested that narrative humanization—presenting personal stories of self-identified non-offending pedophiles—could be one route to doing this.“
Progressive decay
The forces at play in pushing pedophilia to the point of general social acceptance cannot be overlooked. The decay that has long since begun continues. If you don’t learn from the past, you are forced to repeat it. However, the consequence will not be limited to the local level but will affect the entire planet.
It is time to exit as quickly as possible from all institutions directly and indirectly linked to this policy, be they political institutions, the established (tax-funded) churches, trade unions or trade associations – The reason.
