Long forgotten due to the constant interventions of the Roman Catholic Church, it was rediscovered in the 19th century. The biblical statements about the prophesied year 1844 AD and the associated heavenly sanctuary are essential for human salvation. No wonder these biblical truths are the focus of constant attacks.

1844 and sanctuary doctrine are biblical

The teachings of the Evangelical Free Church of the Seventh-day Adventists (STA) include, among other things, the special year 1844 AD and the Heavenly Shrine associated with it. Even though these topics are something of a specialty of the SDA, these teachings are not an exclusive idea, but rather special highlights of the truths contained in the Bible. The Heavenly Sanctuary, which was rebuilt by the historic people of Israel and later also by the Judeans as a portable tabernacle or as a temple according to a precise building plan, is of extremely great importance for the salvation of people. The tabernacle and temple are a type of the heavenly sanctuary.

Cleaning of the sanctuary has already begun

Briefly outlined, the year 1844 AD is the date when the sanctuary according to Daniel 8:14 after 2300 evenings and mornings cleansed or justified again. Some Bible translations use the phrase “put into righteousness.” The year 1844 is not explicitly described in the Bible, but can be determined relatively easily on the basis of the prophecies and the verifiable events that have already occurred. This prophecy of Daniel has thus already been fulfilled. This concerns the beginning of judgment on part of humanity.

Sanctuary doctrine stands in the way of ecumenism

In the course of the massive advance in ecumenism, not only Jesus Christ, the Son of God, stands in the way, but also His complete work of salvation. And this can be found again in the Heavenly Sanctuary. No wonder that Jesus Christ is not only ignored and pushed to the sidelines, but also the context for the exclusive path of salvation of every single human being. Instead, a variant of salvation based on the “watering can principle” has long been brought into circulation. It simply has to be compatible with the religions that exist worldwide and at this point the Son of God no longer has any place in the sense of the desired uniform religion. A fatal mistake.

Some basic knowledge required

If you study the Bible yourself, you will quickly find out that the Scripture interprets itself. Symbols that cannot be explained at first glance can be found elsewhere and explain the meaning of the symbol in context. For example, the book of Daniel 8, which is related to the heavenly sanctuary, contains rams and goats. These are pure animals that were offered as sacrifices in the replica of the heavenly sanctuary, i.e. in the tabernacle or temple.

The beasts described in Daniel 7, the lion, bear, panther and “monsters”, on the other hand, are all unclean animals. Their meaning is also explained in the same chapter. They are symbols for the ancient empires of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and the pagan empire of Rome that emerged and have long since disappeared. The symbols found in the Bible all have certain properties that were not chosen randomly, but rather provide clear indications of the properties or connections of the prophesied events.

Daniel 7 describes the judgment

Judgment begins (in heaven) with the justification of the sanctuary. The Bible reports in detail in Daniel 7 that a judgment will take place. After the horn that grew out of the 4th beast (pagan Rome) was in the world for 3.5 times (1260 years, Information about prophetic times) and raged at that time. The power of the blasphemous horn will be taken away. What follows is the total destruction of the blasphemous system. The horn gained (political) power in 538 AD after the last resistance in Rome was crushed. This was followed by 1,260 years of devastation caused by the new religious and political power of Rome.

The horn comes to an end

The horn met its political end in Year 1798 AD, after Napoleon sent his general Berthier to St. Peter’s Basilica to drag the Pope out of his apartments. It follows automatically that the judgment announced in Daniel 7 must take place after 1798. In short, with the horn described in Daniel 7, it is the Roman Catholic Church or papacy. The first reformers and Protestant theologians saw in Rome unanimously the “son of perdition” described in the Bible, the “man of sin”.

Judgment begins after 1798 AD

By now it is already clear that this judgment will take place after 1798 AD and before Christ returns. This judgment ends with the appearance of Jesus Christ, because he will have his reward for everyone, depending on his works, according to an important statement in the Bible. At this point it is already decided who is saved and who is lost. This presupposes that all decisions of the court have been concluded. The exact timing of the beginning of judgment is found in Daniel 8:14.

Daniel 8 gives exact year

In Daniel 8, verse 14 already becomes very specific. Read in context, the beginning of the 2300 evenings and mornings refers to the Persian king’s order to rebuild the Temple or Jerusalem. This order or the beginning of the reconstruction is historically documented and took place in 457 BC. In the Bible, the call to rebuild can be found in the book of Ezra, chapter 7. If you add 2,300 years to this year, you end up with the year 1844 AD. Mathematically, the year will be 1843. However, a year must be added since there is no year “0”. After 1 BC comes 1 AD.

Cleansing of sanctuary equals judgment

Why does judgment also begin with the justification or cleansing of the sanctuary? It is known from the earthly replica of the sanctuary that the cleaning was carried out by the respective high priest once a year on the Day of Atonement. The sins of the people accumulated over the past year were removed from the sanctuary. People were justified by their penitence and faith in the work of salvation through the sacrifice (symbol of Jesus Christ).

With His death, resurrection, and ascension, Jesus Christ assumed the position of our High Priest. The “perfect priest” with no sins of his own and no need for a substitutionary sacrifice. Jesus Christ brought His own blood into the sanctuary. What was recreated in the earthly sanctuary actually takes place in the heavenly sanctuary. With the cleansing of the sanctuary, as announced in Daniel 8:14, Jesus Christ is in the “Holy of Holies” for the removal of people’s confessed and repented sins. The court has begun.

Expansion of attacks on sanctuary doctrine

The teachings about the sanctuary and its purification since 1844 must be absolutely destroyed by the advocates of ecumenism. In other words, the interest of the Horn or the Roman Catholic Church as the continuation of pagan Rome in the guise of Christianity lies in hiding the truth about exclusive salvation through Jesus Christ.

Just as the Church of Rome has practiced over the many centuries by banning the Bible, persecuting and murdering those who believe in the Bible as heretics, and introducing its own traditions while at the same time preventing God’s commandments and statutes, this church today acts in a subtle way. This church has raised itself up as the successor of Peter and earthly representative of Christ, so to speak as God on earth. The attacks on the teachings of the Heavenly Sanctuary are therefore certain to intensify.

Jesus Christ has been in the Holy of Holies of the Shrine since 1844. With him also the gospel, which was symbolically placed as the showbread on the right side of the sanctuary. According to Revelation 11:1-2, anyone who is still “loitering” in the temple courtyard and has not yet entered the sanctuary will one day be left to the Gentiles anyway. Anyone who has already entered the sanctuary (character change, Bible study, faith deepening, etc.) and wants to continue following the paths of Jesus should go straight to the Holy of Holies.
