The ancient city of Babel and the surrounding kingdom of Babylon are known in connection with the tower building. But with the prophetic designation in the book of Revelation and the extremely important meaning, it looks rather sad. Modern Babylon has a tremendous role to play here and now.

Babylon little known in Revelation

The subject of Babylon in the Book of Revelation is avoided by some churches or only marginally addressed. One or the other inquiry to the relevant church members usually resulted in an “I don’t know” or an “I’ve heard of it” as an answer. However, neither the members of a regional evangelical church I interviewed nor the members of a Baptist congregation knew how the composition, the background and, above all, the future of Babylon was limited in time. Not to mention the baptized of the Roman Catholic Church. Prophecy is not generally one of the favored subjects of Scripture to be taught. This is also somehow understandable, because in this way the past and also highly topical actors described in the Bible could be easily identified. This is exactly what the Church of Rome is trying to avoid with all its might (counter-reformation) and with the help of the Jesuit order with great success. Most of the former Protestant churches have long since joined the dogmas of Rome and have thus returned as once “defiant daughters” and make little men now.

Biblical and Ancient Babel

Babylon-Monster

Ancient Babylon is famous for art

The ancient city of Babel was built by the so-called “first tyrant” Nimrod. The area lies between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers, in what is now Iraq. The famous Tower of Babel also took place there. This attempt to unite humanity in rebellion against God has, as is well known, gone horribly wrong. The confusion of languages (“babble”) put an end to the hustle and bustle. The kingdom of Babylon flourished between kings Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar.

However, due to Belshazzar’s presumption, the once powerful empire was handed over by God to the Medo-Persians (“Mene mene tekel – Menetekel”). This happened in the year 539 BC. within one night and without a great cry of battle. The history of ancient Babylon under the Chaldeans ends “already” after the 5. chapter of the book of Daniel.

Almost nothing remains of ancient Babylon

What remains of the ancient city of Babel today? As good as nothing. Because God has pronounced His judgment on this unhappy city, as in Jeremiah 51:29:
“And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant.”

The famous Pergamon Museum has existed in Berlin since Emporer Wilhelm II and contains the so-called Ishtar Gate from the former east side of the city. A blue gate in the once yellow city wall around Babel.

The current Babylon

Modern Babylon reflects characteristics of ancient Babylon

While the Old Testament actually always talks about the city of Babel (in German Bibles), the New Testament describes (modern) Babylon in the Book of Revelation. It is not a literal city, but stands as a symbol for the blasphemous, idolatrous polytheism of the ancient world empire. Babylon in Revelation is therefore to be treated as prophetic.

The Babylon is the sum of a union of three entities. The dragon, the beast (out of the sea) and the false prophet (see Revelation 16:13).

The Dragon

The dragon, as described in Revelation 12:9, is Satan. According to Revelation 13:2, he gives the beast (out of the sea) his power, the throne and authority (on earth).

The beast from the sea

With the beast from the sea it is about the papacy or the Roman Catholic. Church. This fact was recently recognized by the first reformers and nothing has changed from this fact until today. Anyone who claims that it is about an (ominous) future Antichrist is either denying the complete correspondence between the biblical prophecies and the previous and current Characteristics and actions of the Roman Church, or he adheres to the widespread deception of the so-called “Futurism” without substantiating this thesis based on his own motivation in the Bible check over.

The False Prophet

For example, the false prophet can be found in Revelation 13 from verse 11. This prophet is described here as the beast out of the earth. A “docile” contemporary and henchman of the first beast. This beast of the earth is fallen Protestantism in connection with the state power USA. With the first reformers, the Protestant Church was once cleansed of the unspeakable Blasphemies of the Roman Catholic Church. Just as the inhabitants of ancient Babylon once worshiped the sun as their supreme god. The preference for the sun is very visible in the Roman Church.

EV churches did not stay true to God

But the churchmen and women of the evangelical houses have visibly failed to completely replace the blasphemous spirit that has gone out with the knowledge gained through the Reformation with the teachings of the gospel and also to leave these truths as they are. So it can be safely assumed that the daughters of Rome, who still call themselves “Lutheran Churches”, will pursue the persecution of people who are faithful to the Gospel more vigorously than the mother organization in Rome itself. It is already evident today that the evangelical churches are “deserted of all good spirits“.

According to the principle of the extended impure spirit in an individual, described in Matthew 12:43-45:
“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”

Roman Church has never changed

The big difference with the Roman Catholic Church is that it has never been freed from the deceptive spirits since its inception. She introduced the heresies, stuck to them, expanded the package, and continues to lure people straight into perdition today. Rome has never changed and does not shake its unspeakable blasphemies.

The house of Babylon is filled with unclean spirits (heresy) today and it will not be long before the great exclamation is heard:
“And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.” (Rev. 18,2)

Summary:

Babylon described in the book of Revelation consists of:

  • The dragon (Satan)
  • The beast (Roman Catholic church / papacy)
  • False prophets (fallen Protestantism / USA)

Satan, the Church of Rome and the fallen Protestant Churches will unite (finally) and together, in addition to worshiping a false god, will persecute true believers or followers of the gospel. As an executive state power, the USA will play a central role. But today’s Babylon will also come to an abrupt end, just like the ancient kingdom once did. The book of Revelation chapter 18 gives detailed information about this. Just pick up the Bible yourself and read it with your opened eyes and mind.

People have to choose

Babylon bull

For humans, the decision is: God or Babylon

Today’s Babylon will soon appear “omnipotent”. This applies to all facets of everyday life. At this point the people must decide whether they want to follow the dogmas and “challenges” of Babylon or whether they want to remain faithful to God.

For the people it doesn’t matter whether they believe in the teachings of Babylon or whether they only participate in the worship (probably “Mother Earth” and this on Sundays) because of threatened sanctions (can no longer buy and sell, see Revelation 13). They take the “mark of the beast” and will be lost. Unfortunately, the majority of these people will take an active part in the persecution of followers of the true gospel. The defamation, ostracism and exclusion of certain groups of people has recently been successfully tested over the past 3 years using a principle that has already been used several times (Hegelian Dialectics).

Then it’s better to stick to the Word of God.
