Revelation – Beasts – Woman – Whore – City – The details are important

Sanduhr der Mutterhure

Beasts, women, whores, cities, all symbolic representations in Revelation for prophecy, which is so important for our times. Different characters with different, similar or even the same characteristics. The distinctions, even though all the threads may converge at one point, have a very specific reason and should therefore be taken into account.

Prophetic details and not variety of novels

For the consideration of the future but very close fulfillment of the prophecies in the book of Revelation in the Bible, some symbolic figures described there are of great importance. It is not only important to know their meaning, but above all to distinguish between them. With His prophecy to John on the island of Patmos, Jesus Christ did not describe various aspects in detail in order to give one and the same character more variety, which would be a stylistic device in novels, but rather to distinguish the different characteristics or characters of the actors from one another.

Book of Revelation
Only a few open prophecies left

The book of Revelation is full of symbolic language. An explanation of the individual symbols can be found here. However, only “the beast from the bottomless pit, the beast from the sea, the beast from the earth, the woman, the whore and the city” are considered here. These symbols each have their own characteristics that not only have differences but also similarities. Recognizing these differences and similarities is a prerequisite in order to be able to understand the long-standing or future connections.

The properties of the symbols

The following is an overview of the figures or symbols in the book of Revelation that are important for future events.

The Beast – A State Power

In order to correctly classify the “concept” of beasts, it helps to look “back” into the Old Testament, into the book of Daniel, chapter 7. There, 3 beasts and 1 “monster” are described in turn. They are a lion, a bear, a panther and a very strange beast with 10 horns. In this chapter the Bible explains the meaning of the four beasts themselves, Daniel 7:17:
“These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.”

Bulle
The beast, his image and his mark

The beasts are therefore kingdoms or empires. History itself bears witness that these empires, in the order of the beasts shown, were Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and the Roman Empire. Another horn emerged from the fourth beast with 10 horns. This horn increased in size and power, and according to Daniel 7, will exist until the end of days. Here too, history shows that the power of the Roman Empire passed smoothly to the papacy. This is historical fact and not speculation (more info).

It is therefore clear: A beast represents a political power, an empire, a royalty. But not a religious institution.

The Woman – A Church / Community

A woman plays an extremely important role in the prophecy of Revelation. The Bible provides information in various places that a symbolic woman represents the church of God, the people of God. So it’s a religious institution. Ephesians 5:31-32 says:
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

The church or people of God is also the bride of Jesus Christ, 2. Corinthians 11:2:
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

So it’s clear: A woman represents a religious institution. Specifically, it is not just any religious community, but the community of Jesus Christ, or the people of God.

The Whore – A Fallen Church

Whore of Babylon
The mother of whores has been known for a long time

An unfaithful woman who is unfaithful to her husband is called a whore in the Bible. The apostasy of God’s people, like the people of Israel so often in the Old Testament, and the turning to paganism and idolatry is also described as fornication. The former woman (people of God, church) became a whore (apostate church) through her spiritual apostasy to idolatry. The prophet Hosea lamented this apostasy, Hosea 3:1:
Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

The prophet Ezekiel also knew how to identify the connection with Egypt and the associated idolatry of the people of Israel, Ezekiel 23:2-3:
Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother: And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.

So it’s clear: A whore is a religious institution. Specifically, the former church of God, which, by abandoning God’s statutes, turned to paganism and practiced idolatry. A fallen church.

The beast from the bottomless pit

This beast first appears in Revelation 11. No other properties are described in this chapter. It destroys the “two witnesses”, i.e. a (temporary) victory over the word of God (mehr Infos). What is clear, however, is that this is a state or political power, not a religious institution.

In Revelation 17, the “beast from the bottomless pit,” which appears for the second time, is described in more detail. It is scarlet red, has 7 heads and 10 horns. The red color creates a connection to the “fiery red” dragon described in Revelation 12. The dragon is clearly described in Revelation 20:2 as “the ancient serpent, the devil, and Satan.” In addition, the beast from the bottomless pit and the dragon each have the same number of 10 heads and 7 horns. Only the beast from the bottomless pit no longer has any crowns. A clear reference to the structural change during the French Revolution. The monarchies (real kings) were abolished and democracies or republics were introduced.

So it’s clear: The beast from the bottomless pit is a political, state power with direct satanic origins.

The beast from the sea

The beast from the sea is described in Revelation 13:1-10. It has 7 heads, 10 horns and 10 crowns. There is no color assigned to this beast. This beast has a panther body, bear feet and a lion’s mouth. Panther, bear and lion received their meaning in Daniel 7, as described above. The beast from the sea thus has characteristics of Greece, Medo-Persia and Babylon. It is also important to note that this beast received its power from the dragon, i.e. Satan.

One of his heads received a fatal wound. But this will heal again. In total, the beast from the sea displayed its tyrannical power for (symbolic) 42 months, i.e. for 1260 years (prophetic times). – info). The French Revolution also brought about a major change for this beast. This was in 1798, when political power was wrested from the papacy. This was the fatal wound to one of the beast’s heads.

But the wound was only to one head, not the entire beast. In addition, this wound healed again. The beast from the sea continued to live and work, constantly regaining its original power.

It is therefore clear: The beast from the sea is a political, state power, with structures inherited from the ancient world empires.

The Beast from the earth

Innocent lamb
A seemingly innocent lamb

This beast from the earth appears in Revelation 13, starting at verse 11. The essential characteristics of this beast are two lamb horns and speaking like a dragon. A color is not assigned to the beast. The lamb is a symbol of Jesus Christ, or the living word of God. The dragon, on the other hand, points to Satan. Two characteristics that indicate that this beast, although pretending to be Christian, is proclaiming the words of the adversary.

A chronological sequence is also possible, in that this beast initially had Christian characteristics, but then slipped into satanic territory. These characteristics, as well as the descriptions of the beast from the earth carrying out the will of the beast from the sea, and the history indicate that this is the USA. More info.

So it’s clear: The Beast from the Earth is a political, governmental power that reflects the characteristics of the Beast from the Sea, on a global scale.

The City – Characteristics of the Whore

The city of Revelation 18:16 has the same characteristics as the woman (harlot) in Revelation 17. Both are covered in scarlet and purple. The fact that there is a close connection between the woman and the city is not only speculation, but also clearly stated, as in Revelation 17:18:
And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

So it’s clear: The woman and the city are one. While woman represents a religious institution, the city’s rule over the kings represents political power. There is therefore a combination of religious and political power in a single institution. Specifically, this city is Rome (mehr Infos).

Church and state – woman and beast – distinguish

The institution that combines both structures is the papacy, based in Rome. Although church and state are united in the papacy, the differences between women and beasts and their respective characteristics and actions must still be considered separately. Woman is church, beast is state. That is why beasts are not the same as women and the church is not the same as the state. For the church of Rome is represented as the apostate woman, i.e. the whore of Babylon. The state, i.e. Vatican City, or the Holy See is found in Revelation as a depicted beast. Specifically, it is the beast from the sea.

The reason it is so important to make these distinctions is because otherwise there is the possibility that a different course of events than expected will occur due to a misunderstanding of prophecy. Here there is a particularly great danger of dismissing this as a major error and therefore rejecting the prophecy of Revelation (and Daniel) and its assignments as a whole.

If the Church of Rome, i.e. the religious institution, collapses in front of everyone along with the once Protestant churches, the power of Rome would obviously also disappear into obscurity. How did this fit with prophecy? Not at all. Therefore, make a strict distinction between beasts and women, i.e. between state power and church institutions. Because if the church, and therefore the woman, goes under, the beast has by no means disappeared from the face of the earth. However, this beast does not represent a religious institution with all the pomp and luxury, but is a purely state power structure.

Always consider state and church separately

All of the beasts depicted in Daniel 7 (and also 8), as well as the beasts in Revelation, show a governmental, not religious, structure. It is therefore obvious that it was not the religious, but the state that was the driving force of historical events and will continue to be in the future.

Babylon already did it. The last king of ancient Babylon, before its fall, was a duo of Belzasar and his father Nabunides. Belshazzar was in Babylon and was in charge of the state’s affairs, while his father served religious matters from away, from a resort, so to speak. Even God emphasized both structures, religion and state, separately by emphasizing “mene mene Tekel” to both downfall. “Mene” twofold, one for the religious structure, the other for the state structure.

Today’s Babylon – 3 parts

This emphasis on separate structures is also repeated for the symbolic Babylon of today. Its demise is announced, also with double emphasis, Revelation 18:2:
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

The desired merger between church and state is the papacy’s desire to be able to exercise absolute power over both areas. Nevertheless, state papacy and ecclesiastical papacy must be considered separately. Today’s Babylon in question consists of three parts: the dragon, the beast (from the sea) and the false prophet (mehr Infos).

Here again it becomes clear that woman (whore) and beast must be distinguished from each other. The great judgment against Babylon (Revelation 18) initiates the destruction of Babylon. A combination of the dragon, the beast (from the sea) and the false prophet. According to Revelation 19, beginning in verse 17, the beast and the false prophet are seized and thrown into the lake of fire. So the beast, there is no longer any mention of a woman here. There is also the false prophet, i.e. the political world power USA (beast from the earth).

The partial state structure will be destroyed, not the church, because according to Revelation 17 it has already been eliminated. The dragon, as the third member of the league, will have to eke out a 1000-year existence on the destroyed earth (Info).

Overview of chronological classification

The beast from the sea gained its dragon-given power starting in 538 AD. 42 months of tyranny followed. Prophetic 42 months equal 1260 years. In 1798, this power was taken away as a result of the French Revolution (“fatal wound”). Instead, at this time the satanic beast emerged from the bottomless pit. Since then, the “fatal wound” on one of the beast’s heads from the sea has been healing again. Parallel to the French Revolution, the beast rose from the earth. The founding of the USA in 1776 and the international recognition that followed, as well as the deposition of the Pope in 1798.

The French Revolution abolished the monarchy (“real kings”). For this reason, the beast from the bottomless pit no longer has any crowns upon its emergence according to Revelation 17, which describes the present and future course of events. The quasi pseudo-kings (governments) will hand over their power to this satanic beast. Revelation 17 also describes the downfall of women, i.e. the church. But the power of the beast remains, i.e. the state. Anyone who lumps the beast and the woman of prophecy together without distinguishing between them might be completely surprised to find out why the (“Christian”) church is now suddenly disappearing from the face of the earth.

Religion was always a “by-product”

The supposed Christianity of the Roman Catholic Church was always just a “by-product” or a means to an end. The goal of this institution was and is absolute, unrestricted power over the entire earth. Power over governments is state-based, not religious.

Just as the world empires of antiquity are depicted as beasts in the book of Daniel, Satan always uses state structures to fulfill his dream of world domination. Babylon, as well as ancient Egypt, Medo-Persia, Greece and the Roman Empire, were entities initiated and “motivated” by Satan. This also applies to the successor empire that still exists today, the papacy. In fact, this structure is something special and extraordinary. But even this quality surrounding the institution of Rome was announced in Daniel 7:24:
… and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first,…

Greed for power and wealth have always been man’s weaknesses that served Satan’s plans. A primacy in an exclusive global position. The aspect of religiosity serves to “put the crown” on the whole. After all, he wants to be a divine ruler. An adorable primate, based entirely on the example of the Roman emperor, so is the Pope as the earthly representative of the great adversary (Info).
