There will be no salvation in sin. Jesus Christ came to save man from sin, to overcome it in this present world. A large part of the erroneous teachings therefore simply abolish the laws and with them the definition of sin.

Sin – A stumbling block to man
Sin is much more than just a nuisance. This is inexcusable and cannot be justified. However, since avoiding sin is tantamount to obeying God, (carnal) man struggles with submitting to God’s will. Admittedly, the act of sin is much easier than resisting the temptation. But God has promised to work through His Holy Spirit to give man the ability to overcome sin.
Sin is defined “short and sweet” in 1. John 3:4:
“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.“
Many doctrines are based on canceled laws
Where there is lawlessness, there is also a law that is broken or ignored. There is a repeated problem here, because the narrative believed by a majority of evangelical Christians is that “Jesus Christ nailed the law to the cross.” In other words, the laws were abolished and man lived only under grace and no longer under the law.
A fatal mistake in two respects. For the law actually nailed to the cross is not the 10 Commandments, but the ceremonial laws (Info).
The further aspect is the misunderstood life under grace. It is suggested that observing laws is obsolete because they have already been abolished and that people must rely exclusively on the inexhaustible grace of Jesus. “Just believe in it.” In fact, man lives under grace, because if this were not the case, man would already be dead after the first sin. But that does not mean that the laws (10 Commandments) are irrelevant, because sin is still the breaking of the law .
No laws, “other sin”
Recognized by the apologists of heresies, they sat down and simply redefined sin (Info). The main thing is that God’s law no longer comes into play. The majority of believers therefore assume that they can continue to live as before and assume that they can be saved from their sins.
The Bible gives numerous indications and, above all, warnings that sin is still relevant and is primarily defined by breaking the law. The law of God is holy and applies forever (Info).
The Gospel about Sin
The following are some crystal clear statements from the Gospel that sin and therefore the law remain relevant. What still counts is obedience to God and His laws and therefore overcoming sin. The Gospel also makes clear what the nature of sin actually is.
1 John 3:8:
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.“
1 John 3:9:
“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.“
1 John 3:10:
“In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.“
John 8:42:
“Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.“
John 8:44:
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.“
John 8:47:
“He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.“
Matthew 7:21:
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.“
John 1:12-13:
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.“
Revelation 22:14:
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.“
Saved from sin, not in sin
Jesus Christ did not come and sacrifice himself to abolish the law and thus sin. It is said that He took sin out of this world, but this refers to the consequences of sin. With His sacrifice, Jesus Christ opened up a way to allow grace to prevail despite justice. But this grace does not apply across the board to everyone who can just say “Jesus” loudly enough. After His ascension, Jesus Christ sent His representative, the Holy Spirit. It is this who leads people to be able to overcome sin.
Sin will no longer enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, no person will be allowed entry in their sinfulness. The character change made possible by God to overcome sin must happen here and now. A transformation of the body, whether still alive or resurrected at Jesus’ return, does not entail a “sudden change of character”. Now we have to overcome!
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
