Warnung

Deutsch

Statements about the end times are often linked to the question of how or by what the end of time could be recognized. In addition to the clearly visible developments in the political and theological areas, the “excesses” in the social area are also described in the Bible.

Some developments cannot be dismissed out of hand

warning
The signs of the times cannot be ignored

The Bible provides information in many places about the conditions and developments in the time of the end. Some statements are very clearly defined, while others can only be properly understood in context. The following is an excerpt of the end-time announcements in Scripture.

Daniel 12:4:
Knowledge and understanding of Bible prophecy will increase.

Nahum 2:4 (Antitype of the judgment of Nineveh):
Increase in number and speed of vehicles.

Matthew chapter 24:
There will be many wars and afflicting nations. The number of earthquakes is increasing. The gospel is spread worldwide. There will be a great tribulation. False Christs appear. There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. Everything still goes its usual way (like in the time of Noah).

2 Timothy 4:3-4:
Turning away from true belief and turning to superstition. People will believe the teachings that are “pleasant”.

James 5:1-8:
The (excessive) wealth collected by a few will pass away (e.g. financial crash and economic crisis). Wealth was gained primarily by defrauding the value-added (workers). impoverishment of the people spreads. The righteous (believers) will be persecuted.

2 Peter 3:3-7:
Beliefs in Jesus’ return are mocked. Statements in the Bible are dismissed as “fairy tales”.

2 Timothy 3:1, 1-7:
The times “in the last days” will be bad. people will “loving oneself, greedy for money, boastful, haughty, blasphemer, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, uncontrolled, violent, hostile to good, traitor, frivolous, conceited; they love pleasure more than God; having the appearance of fear of God, but denying its power[..]”.

Everyone can use these statements on social development, which do not claim to be complete, to think about the actual developments in their immediate and wider environment. The Developments in the political as well as theological area are obvious anyway.
